Locked chest in Splurging!

Hi guys,

I've been playing BG1 over and over again, and I think I know almost all the secrets of this game (which is one of the best I ever played) but there's one thing that keeps me in the dark: there's a locked chest in one of the rooms on the 2nd level of the Splurging Surgeon in BG NE section... It is warded against spells and it cannot be opened nor by strenght neither by lockpicking. Does anyone know the way to open it??? Maybe there's a key somewhere, or an item that, like in BG2, opens this chest! Please, if you have any idea, I'd really like to know it!!

I am going through BG1 for the 8th or 9th time. There's actually a bug on Balduran's Island where Dedrogel and the headwomen just multiply again and again. So I can't go through it... I've reinstalled the game, but it still doesn't work. I've past around 25 hours on this 9th time and I'm stucked at about 2 hours from the end!!!! RAAARRRGHHH!!!!!! I'll try to find a patch, but I have the collector's edition, so I think it is up to date.... I guess I'll have to load a previous savegame... and replay 4-5 hours more...

The chest is not openable. Evidently this was part of a quest that was discontinued. I believe GameBanshee's walkthrough points this out.

I don't have ToTSC so I can't comment on your second question.
