Bound weapon glitch

Post by Sir chris »

Ok I just found this out to day and I don't think any ones posted a topic like this I've checked it but.

Ok I use my fiend dagger I bought from that Kajit in Balamora and I unequip the bound dagger and drop it (accidentally) and I'm unequiped for 15 seconds or so and my normal dagger requips and pick up the bound dagger nd as far as I know it never has dissapeared  ...

Can somebody explain if this is part of the game or a glitch?

This is known bug sometimes deliberately used as an exploit. (It's nice to have a Daedric Bow with zero weigtht, isn't it? ;) ) Most often it happens with CE item summoned things, though.

I know whats wrong

When you summon a bound item, unequip and drop in inventory. Close menu and reopen. Drop item on ground and wait for time to expire. You get to keep the bound items forever.

Either you are on xbox or have missed a patch. It was possible to drop an item, to rest longer than the item expires and to pick it up to make permanent. After some patch (cannot recall which exactly) you just cannot drop it.

However it still may happen. Most usually if you have CE item with, say, bound longbow on it and are wearing it long enough. Or at least so it is in my case. Since the real Daedric Longbow is heavy enough and i'm carrying a lot (potions, stealth and sanctuary apparel, hammers, several pieces of weapon with different enchantments i'm currently using, soul gems - full for recharging and empty for trapping, etc.). So as soon as i can i mostly am using Bound Longbow, and there always come a moment it becomes permanent. It usually is preceded by crash, though. I believe, however, the crash isn't the cause, rather the effect, altogether after some reload (i'm F5'ing often) i can put my Bowman's Ring into the box and continue to use my Bound Bow forever. The slight drawback is the Bound Bow has only 800 quality points, alyogether i can live with it. I haven't been able to finger out the exact conditions what makes it happen, though.

BTW, one may force this thing to happen ;)

Create a composite spell with harmless first part on target for 1sec and put the bound spell for item you want as the second on self also for 1 sec. Then cast it on ground... Here you are, the item is permanent :D
For example,
Restore Fatigue on Target for 1 sec. + Bound Longbow on Self for 1 sec.
BTW, it's not quite my discovery, somebody has found it while summoning creatures. So you can also get the permanent companion or even an army. Nice to have a squad of lovely Golden Saints following and caring for you, isn't it?

Golden Saint Armda

While its all good and well to have a Golden Saint Armda, when your traveling, on foot, they cannot all make it through doors so youll lose a few, but they will be "gone", where you cant see them but the game still counts them, and then when you attempt to travel by silt strider or some other form of transportation will cost up to 1000 GOLD+. :( Very bad indeed...
I used to hate going to weddings because the old people would always say,"You Next! You Next!" Now I go to funerals and tell them the same thing.

You always can kill them :D BTW, in difference with normally summoned ones those do not disappear if killed, so you can have a load of Golden Saints or Dremoras with all they may carry where you want them ;) The most pain they are so slow when you're in the Boots of Blinding Speed :) and cannot fly (even the Winged Twilights can't, what a shame).
I'm not saying that's allright and have to be used, it's just a bit of exploit i've come by :) (BTW, the same way as the replacement of Restore Magicka with such combo with Fortify Magicka for 1 sec. as the second spell).

I might agree, altogether to find is almost so good as to have, and it's just fun to discover :) Besides, perhaps there might be some Atronach gotten bored with Magicka recovery problem, at least at the begining - until he discovers alchemy and merchantile ;) (I posted here some time ago "Mystic's Open..." nobody responded to with completely legal game open for a mage or another magical character based on Mystic, Alteration and Mercantile, and i usually play Atronach...)

I didn't think the Creeper bought soul gems...

It does (the Mudcrab Merchant doesn't). Also weapon, armor, potions, rings, amulets.

I'm pretty sure that the creeper buys any clothes as long as they're enchanted. I already knew about that cool permanent Summon. I also like using permanent fortify glitch.
