We've Got Snow Here!!
I don't believe it! Here I am, in the middle of October, there's practically snow everywhere I look! The earliest Connecticut usually tends to get snow is late November or early December!!
Now all of the sudden I feel more like playing Icewind Dale 2.
Anyone wish to comment?

Tamerlane: Well, I personally feel most comfortable in winter, since there are no ticks to worry about. After contracting Lyme Disease at age 16 from one of those things, I dreaded going for walks in the woods until weather like this came around.
Georgi: Yeah, I've been contemplating doing that. Just have to make sure my mom knows I'm doing it (right now, I think she's asleep). Also, I've got to get ready for college classes. I'll find the time at some point.

I know where your coming from about ticks, went on a canoeing trip a while back. It was suppose to be good relaxing fun paddling down a gentle river for 3 days. Sadly the fauna had other ideas, had to contend with leeches and ticks. You have to burn those suckers off, I was pretty lucky to of gotten through it without meeting them but I have a huge respect for them now.
!
We've got snow here as well, came yesterday morning and it's unusually early here too - end of November or beginning of December is more normal. And it's freezing cold - brrrr!
@Galuf: You got Lyme Disease, poor thing? I understand why your fear ticks after that. My father has had Lyme disease twice, my mother once - they have their summer house in an area where the amount of ticks carrying the borrelia bacteria is very high. There is actually a Swedish mosquito repellant that works quite well to repell ticks as well, I use that when I visit them at their summer house.

*Looks out window*....we're having abnormal weather in Vancouver as well....it's hardly been raining as much as it usually does. Maybe the world's coming to an end!!!!! Maybe it's Weasel's conspiracy!!!!!!
On a more serious note -if you don't mind me asking- what exactly is lyme disease?

Here outside Philly, I'm hoping the snow will hold off until a week or so before the Solstice, then vanish a week afterwards. Last year we had an abnormally cold, long, and harsh winter, with seemingly endless snow. It made travel especially hazardous, since New Jersey drivers are in a foul temper during most times, and when they're being prevented from going at whatever speed they desire, they get really, really irritated.
At the moment, though, we're catching the same Canadian cold front that hit you, @Galuf. Only because we're a bit to the south, the temperatures have simply dropped from highs in the 60s Fahrenheit to highs in the 40s, overnight.

Yeah, I kind of know how you feel. *HUGs* Besides, it all melted away after about 4 hours, due to previous moisture on the ground from recent rainfall and temperatures climbing into the high forties.
Still, I never forget having moderate snowfall in the middle of November last year and thinking that it was like global warming in reverse! It also got cold enough to put Ice Elementals to shame!
Oh well, it was exciting while it lasted.

We got our snow about five days ago... Guess we'll have the sun back in April or May.
Ok, maybe it's not that bad, but it can be tough when there's snow for 8 month/year
Time to bring out the toys for some downhill racing!!!

If you don't want snow, what were you doing getting born in Sweden? Move to Tonga.

Ya'll keep the damned stuff to yourselves, hear?
Nasty white cold stuff. I fear it is just a matter of time B4 the Canadians turn those huge fans on that line the US border and drive snow into the Midwest.
Can't quite get down far enough to get here though...haha!
IMHO frolicking should be done on sand not snow....

Oh, but I love snow! We can have snowball fights IRL instead of computer games...
