how do you become a werewolf?

how do you become a werewolf? does anyone know? do they roam the island freely, are the only out at a certain time of the night/month, certain part of the island?

The one way that I know of is to follow the main quest and near the end you will get a ring that when put on turns you into a werewolf.

Ok, read this and tell me what to do, I think it might be a glitch.

I just got finished with the quest to kill Aseliip, I talked to Korst and he said to go back to Heart-Fang and talk to him. I did. He said something like "I trust you got finished Killing Aseliip" Then the 'Goodbye' message was at the end of it. I turned back around to walk outside, I heard dogs barking. Went outside, but there was nothing. I went back and talked to him ^^ same thing, but no werewolves outside.

Is this a glitch?

I'm pissed off cause I just got GoTY and finshed tribunal, and was looking forword mostly to Bloodmoon. If my main quest is ****ed up, then where can I get the ring that turns me into a Werewolf? In a Barrow or cave?

heartfang has the ring. you can kill him during hircines hunt or you can not cure yourself when you contract the disease that makes you a werewolf.
