Affect of ambient lighting?

Post by UncleScratchy »

Does anyone know how the ambient lighting (i.e. night time, poorly lit caverns, etc.) affects the game play? Does the game programming factor in dim lighting equally to enemies and your character, or can some monsters see better in the dark than others? Also when using nighteye does it increase the enemies ability to see you the same as it helps you? My impression is that enemies see you the same regardless of the lighting conditions while only your character is impaired in the dark. And, do dark conditions help when sneaking? My guess is that they don't.

Actually I think dark conditions DO help you sneak better. Not sure if there are creatures that see better in the dark, but it's possible that there are. And night vision spell only works on you, it doesn't effect anyone else so your enemies ability to see you won't be effected in any way(if you used light spell then they could see you better).
