Hmm... keldorn has the +5 holy avenger now, which is better?
Shield + purifier (making his AC 14)
Purifier + Foebane
or +6 avenger?
is AC still capped at -10, and what (other than the obvious damage and thac0 bonuses) are the benefits of +6 over +5?
Keldorn question.
the dual wield combo looks like the worst option, unless you have already spent some prof stars in two weapon style.
you have to ask yourself a few key questions,
a) do i have any great shields sitting around w/ no one using them? if yes purifier + shield may be for you.
b) have i spent any proff points in a weapons style? if two handed weapon carsomyr, if dual wield foebane + purifier may be best. if sword + shield what were you thinking? (j/k)
c) is keldorn getting hit way too much in battle? if so then a shield may be in order.
don't know the exact level of a/c but it seems much higher (better) than -10

Nay. Shields nay be cool.
Purifier + Foebane
Ye should know that this requires a lot o' additional proficiency slots. 3 in Two Weapon Style, an' 2 in Bastard Sword. That be 5 in total. In o'er words, 15 level-ups.
or +6 avenger?
Ye can give him Carsomyr until ye get 'nuff o' yer proficiency slots, if ye really want to dual wield. It all be 'bout the way YE want to play the game.
Personally, I cannay imagine a paladin dual wieldin', but ye're the one that makes the choice. I gave Keldorn Carsomyr +6, simply 'coz he were already usin' it all the time e'er since we finded it, an' he were nay proficient in Bastard Sword. Suddenly switchin' from a two handed sword to two weapons be a bit weird in me roleplayin' perspective, methinks.

Another Thing that is in Carsomyr's favor is the magic resist for Keldorn and the dispel ability. Purifier is not up to par on these. +4, +5, +6 no big difference the except occasional demi-lich for which you need at least +5. As far as I know there are no creatures that cannot be hit by a +5 weapon. I think a dual-wielding paladin is like a thief or mage wielding carsomyr. Pretty weird

When the warrior is not in battle he doesn't rest. He sharpens his sword.
Well... he would have been practicing in his spare time (while wizards study and priest pray) for, let's say, 15 levels?Originally posted by Armadin of Clan Geddin:

IIRC Keldorn starts out with a star in Bastard sword when you first acquire him at level 9 or so. SO it would only take 12 levels to dual wield effectively. So at level 21 he can dual wield i think and by that level i think you just got the purifier anyway.
Oh yea my paladin dual-wields Purifier +5 and Axe of the Unyielding +5 and deals out tons of damage.

Nay, that be two in Long Sword.IIRC Keldorn starts out with a star in Bastard sword when you first acquire him at level 9 or so.
Aye, but that be YER paladin. Ye can give him the proficiency slots ye want at character creation. The problem with Keldorn be that he be comin' with predefined stats, an' there be little ye can do 'bout that. Not that his stats nay be decent 'nuff, especially with those Gauntlets o' Dexterity that be coincidentally in the very quest ye equip the ol' geezer.Oh yea my paladin dual-wields Purifier +5 and Axe of the Unyielding +5 and deals out tons of damage.

Hmm... His Constitution's fine, but for the rest? Must be old age catching up with him, which is OK.Originally posted by Armadin of Clan Geddin:
