Windows XP Installation Problems...

Post by Arcane »

Whenever I attempt to install my CDs, I always get this error message. Note, this is only on windows xp, I've tried it with my other OS's and it has worked.

This is the message:

Component: CD2 Recommended
File Group: CD2 Recommended
File: E:\CD2\Data\MovHD0.bif
Error: Data Error (cyclic redundancy check).

I don't understand what goes on. Are my CDs corrupted or something? If so, how do I fix it? Is there a way to get a downloadable version of BG2 without the CDs?

Thank you very much,

Arcane

If the problem only exists with xp its unlikely a corruption problem. Questions: At what point in installation do you get this message? What type of install are you attempting? Sounds very much like a problem I had when attempting a full install.

Try copying all of your CDs to your hard drive and running the installation from there :)
