Dual class question
When you dual class you need to meet the score ability and the alignment right?
Does anyone know where I could find out the score ability and the alignment for dualing to some other class?
Or if you know, could you just tell me what are the requirments for Kensai to Mage?
Thx

There are several reasons to dual at level 9
-Hitpoints: fighters get more HP than mages, so dualing later gives you some extra HP
-a Kensai gains +1 attack/+1 damage every 3 levels
-and some others I don't remeber at the moment, I'm sure someother can help me out here

I don't think you can dual-class between two specialist classes, but as others have said, you can dual-class between one specialist class and a standard profession. Which is why we never hear about Kensai/sorcerors, unfortunately.
As Numinor said, 9th level, or 12th level to move from kensai to mage, given the gain of +1 attack/+1 damage every 3 levels. A bit of a spoiler trick:

Gather all the scrolls you can at 9th or 12th level, then let your party go in a good location where they'll hang around, and start learning spells. (Be sure to save before doing so, as you'll probably screw up half or more--yes, I know that's cheese. I'm just passing it along, FWIW.) You should be able to reach 9th level if you've gathered every scroll available to you in the normal course of the game by the time you reach 9th level kensai. With a few more scrolls, which a decent thief might steal, you could make 10th level and regain all your kensai abilities quickly.

To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

but is possible to hack up a kensai sorceror...hehehheheh!!!!
learn to love your blue and purple potions...if you raise your int via blue or purple potion, at 25 you will never fail at copying a spell into your spellbook...so go buy a bunch of blue and purple potions, and lots of scrolls, and every once in a while take out the potions and spells and drink until you're int is nice and high...copy out all your spells into your spellbook.....
you should dual at 12, because of the extra half or full attack per round you get at that level...and if you keep your party small, you will advance very fast in the game...
now quite frankly the kensai mage is cool, but berserker mages are much much better...a kensai mage is almost forced to dual at level 12 because of the extra half attack per round...because they can't wear bracers...the berserker mage can wear bracers including a really seriously cool one later in the game...
the helm of balduran is a wonderful item, kensai mages can't wear them...
from a purely fashion sense, berserker mages have it made...
They call me Darth...

If you dual at 12 you get the extra 1 popint of thac0/dmg of the Kensai and another prof. point; if you want the extra half attack you have to wait till lev. 13.
At what lev. to dual depend on how is big your party and if you have or not ToB:
if you are playing only SoA with a six party then is better to dual at 9, if you have ToB and/or are using a small party (max 3-4 char.) then lev 13 is the best choice.
Regarding the comparison with the berserker-mage (and a lot more about the kensai-mage) do a search and you will find some very good threads of Littiz (the specialist of this class).
Oh, come on, boys. Don't suggest "not-so-legal dual classing which requires hacking" to someone who's obviously new to the dual classing.
@Fui: Welcome to GameBanshee forum. Hope you enjoy the dual classing. My favourite is always the fighter (or Beserker) ->mage for better choice of weapons.
Another reason of dual class at level 9 is that it's more realistic to reach level 10 to regain your fighter class ability. There's always big debate between dual at level 9 and level 12 (or even 13). I go for level 9 for six men party. To reach level 12, you have to be really patient reach mage level 13, and you probably have to go more than half of the game as a mage without fighter ability. No longswords (my favourite), no bows, and each time you gain a weapon proficiency, you have to put them in the different weapon, rather than making your character master or above. I would rather be a grandmaster of only two weapons than only be proficient with many weapon.
