Im stuck in Windspear Dungeon

Post by Impslayer »

HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!!!!

In the Firkraag Dugeon, u have to fight some greater wolweres at a certain moment, juz beyond Samia. And those 3 Greater Wolfweres r exactly my problem. No matter wad I try, I keep getting myself killed. So please help me: give me all of ur battle strategies on defeating this monterously annoying part.

Ow yea, my party exists of: Aerie, Jaheira, Nalia, Minsc, Anomen and my character a sorcerer. The frustating part is, that ive already succesfully passed this part in 2 earlier games, but i dont know how i did that anymore. :(
Slice, cop, swirl, decaputate and mingulate, it's all in a days work.

Do you have Baldurdash? This fixes a bug with the greater werewolves in Windspear (WAY to much regeneration)

Can't think og anything else though. Just gang up.

If you have the Silver Vorpal blade it will kill the Greater Wolfwere instantly, so it can't regenerate. Also, ShapeChange -> Mindflayer will work, if you have a mage capable of casting 9th level spells.

If not, I would suggest just leading it into a different room and locking the door.

By the way, only one of the GWs has the indestructible bug. The other two are killable. But I would definitely get the Balduredash patch.

Use your thief, get the werewolves to spread out and take them done one by one. Three is too much to handle at once, once separated backstab, if that wasn't enough run away and try again. (as there is a huge damage difference with the multiplyer for different hits) Always works and no party damage.

You need to deal enough damage to kill them in one round.

Target all your tanks on one at a time.
- Get your clerics tooled up with Holy Power (or whatever it is: that spell that makes them into great fighters)
- If you've got Minsc and/or Korgan, berserk 'em
- Use Tenser's Transformation if you've got it
- Use all strength modifications you've got

It might take a couple of rounds till you land enough hits all together, but this will work.

Remember to have a few spells ready for when Minsc gubs you after the fight!

Good luck

Definitely gang up all on one at a time. Lotsa MM spell sequenced (especially with you, Aerie, and Nalia). Use "Pause" a lot during the battle.

Haste spell & boots of speed too.

I happen to love the Druid spell Insect Plague - sure these guys don't cast spells, but it does one point of damage (every little bit helps) and a lot of times they cut and run (turn yellow). Does Anomen have the Flail of Ages? that ususlly does a "Slow" effect and lets you pile on that much quicker.

FWIW :)

Well thx for all the advice, and when u read this ill probably already have downed the Baldurdash patch. And i must say this strategy of Baked Goods kicks ass. ;)

Mind Flayer tactic works as well, I love it when mighty Wolfweres
r unable to move, and after that r so easily slain. :D

You can also try casting loads of doom spells on the werewolf and then cast cromatic orb.
