Most Hatred Enemy/ Mods To Make Them Even Worst (SPLR)

Post by Luis Antonio »

I must warn, there are a few minor and major SPOILERS on the lines below.

Peoples!

I was thinking about that:

Who is the most hatred enemy from the entire BG Trilogy? (no mod related)

I would start with Davaeorn, in BG1 (Ah, the stoic (i dunno if this is right) adventurers have found their way down to my lair) cause he really pisses me off (I hate slave drivers in the game, personal reasons)

Sarevok never pissed me at all, he was just a good foe, after all. However, Some people may hate him with all their strenght.

There are those guys from the Blushing Mermaid, the girl is Crystal, I cant remember the male name. "Look here Crystal honey. It's the heros of the Sword Coast. They're the real deal" With a mocking voice... They've been a pleasure to dispatch.

But this is a ToB Forum, right?

Well, let's talk about SoA: (out of timeline order)

Mae'var. He is just disgusting, I've taken 3 times killing him at sight before trying to complete the task the right way. Sob.

Firkraag: "Wherever he is, he is seething". Can you imagine that? I (and IMHO most of the players) have a natural will to kill dragons. He tells me that, I got pissed. I died, of course, 3 times before really preparing the party for the fight, but he still makes me angry.

IMHO lots of people should hate that blasted demi leech, but he is just funny, took a time to kill but nothing to that little extra 'psych kick' to make me angry.

But, (on the entyre trilogy) that RAT, BASTARD, MAGELING Irenicus pisses me off, I've played the entire game hoping that he would come to a fight in the next corner. Unfortunately, only two combats... (Can you imagine someone telling "Ah, the Child of Bhaal has awoken. It is time for more... Experiments" and torturing you... My blood was boiling...)

In ToB, I was really disapointed. The only enemy who pissed me off was the dark witch (the giants mom). And Melissan, before she became the EndBoss. She is so stupid! I wanted to kill her at all costs... Unfortunately, only three chances and after she became a power foe...

So, IMHO Irenicus. Shall I ask for a Poll? That would be great...

Agree with you about Daveorn. Sarevok wasn't that bad. Even Jon wasn't that bad - if you were prepared. Firecrag [sic] wasn't too hard.
But the guy who got to me was the Demi-lich
I tried, I tried, I tried, and I TRIED and he STILL imprisoned everyone.

Finally I got some ideas from everyone and IT WORKED. :D

Yeah...

Well, you know, Irenicus is really a piece of pie if compared to Kangaax or any other Demi- Leech or Leech in combat. But the storyline around him... what he does to you and stuff...
You know, I've fought many times the Kangaax Leech before winning. He is indeed a challenge!
Jon is not that all, but his lines, his speeches, his manners... I reeeallyy loved killing him, loved being a Child of Bhaal, if you know what I mean...
Just the same as Firkraag and Davaeorn.

Other, Umberhulks

I hate fighting big groups of Umberhulks when i'm at lower levels.

I also hate anything that casts things like Confusion and charm.

EDIT: Oh, and not forgeting Balisks *shudders*

I have a boring tale if you willing to listen....

BG1. Escaping from Candelkeep, you go past a group of Balisks. Using the rod of summoning, I summoned about 6 wolfs. They all got turned to stone. I did it again, they all got turned to stone.

To cut a long story short, imagine a whole screen full of monsters (and about 4 membersof my party) that are all turned to stone.

It was a funny sight.
Drat, no pictures. Click here to see what my sig WOULD of looked like.

Here's my Comic Strip , it's a bit crap, but worth a read.

The cool thing about umberhulks is - if you can pull it off. They are highly allergic to cloudkill spells :)

As far a basilisks go - I just go the other way. Or stop and reload. :o

Toughest: Draconis.
Hate with passion: Mindflayers & co.

Actually, when I first played BG, I struggled a lot with sword spiders & co just outside of the spider's den. They were too fast for wee little party of mine. :D Also, the house in Baldur's Gate with Invisible Stalkers, Helmed Horrors and Doom Guards. I still have to reload to fight agains them. :(

For me it's Daveorn or the deamon that you meet in Ulgoth's Beard after you kill the Deamon Knight in Durlag's Tower (can't remeber his name... it's th eone that make you get a dying symbol), all of this is in BG1, I never really hated anyone after I managed to kill Daveorn (took me ages BTW)

Saemon. I hate him so very much.
If I asked, would you answer? Its your problem. Its a deep, deep problem. I have no way to ask about that... I have no elegant way of stepping into your heart without tracking in filth. So I will wait. Someday, when you want to tell me, tell me then. -Bleach

Mods

Well, Saemon is really a stone on the way.

Now, for the veteran people. What is the best mod to face Irenicus? I've tried Ascencion module, but Jon is not really a challenge. Abazigal and the ToB guys (that witch I've mentioned on the poll) really rocks but SoA is not thaaat improved, IMHO.

Any suggestions?

Thanx!

Man, that Jon is not so tough, even with ascencion installed - he is my 1st option enemy, so it will be reaaly good to have a harder butt to kick, if you know what I mean.

I've been crying over the blasted Five, ascencion just... well it just rules, IMHO. I've been wacked by all bosses at least 5 times before making the right strategies...

Thanx

I can't say that I really "hate" most of the monsters. They're evil, they deserve death, and I kill them, but I don't really feel all that personal about it. What gets my goat is characters who insult me and act like they are so superior. Jon Irenicus didn't seem all that malicious to me, even though he put me through a lot of trouble--that's just the way he is. But I was ticked off when he referred to my character as "this nothing". At that point, I decided not just to kill him, but also to make his death painful. :)

But above all others, the character who I'd really like to feed to the trolls is Lady Delcia. Too bad she doesn't really deserve it. :)

First, User Unfriendly.

Man, I just keep looking for mods, cause im kinda... mad or obcecated (dunno if this is right) to bypass Baldur's Gate kinds of challenges... It is just kewl, I wish I knewd how to program mods, AI's and stuff... I have a history on paper bout a drow slave who gets out of the underdark after the passage of the Child of Bhaal, and runs to the sword coast... Well, in the end he finds Drizzt and his hatred for dark elves comes, he is killed... But it is coool, IMHO. Unfortunatelly it is still on portuguese, it will take some time to translate it.

Now Von Dondu

I think you've just picked up the essence of this thread, like, you just tell who is who in the storyline, which kind of folk are just annoying (like Anomen, he is annoying but a very good partner) or give you a reaction. IMHO it is Jonie because of his first lines in the game. And Firkraag, I HATE him, his arrogance.

The storyline in BG trilogy is just huge, with its ups and downs both in quality and reality. So, which of them gives us emotion hate, fear or even empathy?

And the mods to make them harder enemies are just a 'add on', an emotion amplifier, I think.

Thanx you both.

that's why i hate drizzt...such a patronizing smug git in the game...

of course, von, the TROLLS don't deserve to have delcia fed to them...poor trolls... ;) ;) ;)

If I were to say who I hate most, it would be that blasted Amellisan. She is such a sissy, sll she does is sumon things and increase her hit points through the roof, but other than that, If she didnt have so many blasted slayer and bone minions, she would be finished VERY quickly.

I hate Jon Irenicus almost as much. you dont even know who he is, he just kidnapps you and puts you in a cage and runs stupid experiments on you, and thinks he could get away? I enjoyed killing him/her sooo much, especially the 3rd time(!!)

Firkraag, Draconis, all the dragons. Their pretty much the same. I am a trained dragon killer. The only one that didnt die by me was the silver one because she was nice. damn lucky. (stay away from the entangling ones.)

Samon can lick my but clean, if I ever had the chance to kill him, He would be dead in the blink of an eye.gains your trust, loses it, gains it again, loses it again, and tries to gain it again...what a bonehead!

other than that.....KAngaax that mofo with his imprisonment, he got everyone but my animals, what a idiot.i could never beat him unfortunatley, but it wasnt a big deal.

last but not least, haer' dalis. That idiot tries tp steal my girl, and then when I choose to whack him, aerie dumps me! thats very unfair, so what i do is ditch him and THEN wack him with me and Aerie to teach him a lesson :p

Bodhi, I want to b-slap that wench every which way to hell everytime I have to deal with her wordy speeches. Her dialogues before any of the fights with her are long and don't make a difference to the final result.

Bodhi: So you work for the shadow thieves...
Me: SHUT UP, SHUT UP, SHUT UP!
Bodhi: If you think that...
Me: SHUT UP, SHUT UP, SHUT UP!!!

Even worse is if siding with her, her and the entire guild acts so condescending, like I'm a worm in comparison to the members or Bodhi herself. I could easily wipe their stupid undead backsides across the floor like paper on my own backside.

Gah!

I need to break something now.

I agree, I also find it annoying when you face off against these characters multiple times bringing them close to death only for them to retreat. I compare it to the game Pirates, where you face a villain who then surrenders but is immediately back out at sea and then you eventually have to find him again and repeat the process. .

What about Tazok? Was there really any good reason for him to come back in SoA? You kill him in BGI only for him to be inexplicably back in SoA with a cameo part. :p
