Hi
Please help me. I've been playing this excellent game for a week or so now but am completely stuck on the underwater section in Manaan (I think you spell it like that?)
Basically I got to the point where survivors hide themselves behind a force field and the de-pressurise the chamber/s. I didn't manage to persuade them to stop, or press any buttons on the control panel in there.
So now, whenever I enter that part of the game I get killed from the pressure... I've read various walkthroughs on the net for this section and they state there's a control panel to activate, and then the next section involves killing a large (shark?-whats-their-name!). But like I say, everytime I enter the chamber I die.
I'd be eternally grateful if someone could help out. I'm newcomer to RPGs but have been hooked on this excellent title.
Okay then,
Andrew.
Stuck underwater please help!

This is the one point I've found in the game before the conclusion that's really unforgiving. Basically, to succeed in this quest you *have* to convince the survivors of your sincerity. Try returning to an earlier save.
You might also want to do a search in this forum on "water." As I recall, it's been gone into at greater length, before.

To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

I searched back on ocean, this time, and found threads, but they all related to dealing with the leviathan that lies ahead; not the people who don't trust you.
Nonetheless, I recall that the interaction with the survivors is vital. You *have* to convince them that you are sincere. Try persuasion; try force persuasion, if you have that, yet. I found dropping a few points in Persuade at the start of the game makes a big difference, later.
