Several questions on NPC'S and voices

Post by Zarnof »

I had a few questions about the game, and since you guys seem pretty knowledgeable, thought I would ask here.

1. OK, I have an NPC in my party, and she is driving me completely crazy with her picking of stuff up, then complaining it's too heavy. Before I got the patch it let me sell her stuff. The money simply just went to her, which was fine. Now that I have patched, she won't sell anything, and it is really annoying. Is there a way to get her to sell the stuff? She won't do it automatically either.

2. How do I swap out spells with good clerics to healing spells?

3. In Baldur's Gate and such, they used to let you import your own sound effects and little pictures for your avatars. Is that possible in this game?

Thank you all!

Please guys? I couldn't dig up any info on these on these boards, and info elsewhere on the web is pretty sparse.

1) No. And it really annoys me too. I have given +2 Chainmail to Otis, but he insists on carrying his own +1 Chainmail, so is encumbered. Idiot. He is the best NPC thou, he normally only takes gold, not items.

2) Not sure what your problem is. NPC Magic Memerisation is the same as PC, but you dont get to choose which spells they learn.

3) You can import a PCs picture, but it is fiddly, and AFAIK can only be done before you start. More info can be found on Atari's forum if you are interested. You cant do anything about NPCs or voices.

Get rid of her. Nothing else to do.

It's completely automatic, or supposed to be, but I keep forgetting that you should be able to instantly convert any other spell into a cure on the fly. I have not remembered to try when I needed to do it. It's not in the manual?

Even alternate portraits is a lot of special effort. Haven't you read all of the threads about that stuff over at the Atari forums? There are sticky ones up at the top to read through.

I had a lot of trouble finding the spontaneous casting rules in the manual. I actually found it on this forum first. You just need to go to the radial menu, select a spell like you are going to use it and then hold shift. The spell text will change to "cure..."

I hope that helps.

Yep that's it Keill

You hold shift down while casting. Fortunately for me my flat mate had already accidentally stumbled across that before I even installed the game.

The other useful one he stumbled across was how to spread multiple attacks. If you select full attack from the radial menu it will only attack one at a time, thus allowing you to spread your vile weapons of destruction to more than one unworthy foe per round.

Though I woulnd't be surprised if everyone already knew that and I'm making a fool out of myself by posting that.
The text Duke!!! Don't say the text!!
