Removing useless spells from memory
Is there anyway to remove an unwanted spell from a mage's book of memorized spells? I'm trying the game with a two member party (Immy dualed to mage after reaching level 4 thief stats) and my main char so I need to have the most important spells memorized and not waste space on junk like infravision. I've just found a Grease spell scroll but Immy doesn't get the option to memorize it (she's a straight mage not a specialist). I'd like to get rid of Infravision and replace it with grease as that should be very useful in upcoming battles. I've tried using GateKeeper but it doesn't allow me to delete already memorized spells. Would increasing Immy's Intelligence with potions or a tome fix this? Either way I want to ditch Infravision. Thanks in advance.

I don't know how to remove spells from your spellbook inside the game (I'm glad that we can do it in BG2). However, Gatekeeper does allow you to remove spells from your Mage's spellbook. Start Gatekeeper, then open the saved game, then select the character, then select Magical Abilities, then change "Magic Type" to "Wizard", then select the spell Level (I think it always starts at 1st Level), then click on the spell you want to remove inside the "Known Spells" box, and then press the UP arrow key to remove it from your spellbook. To add spells to your character's spellbook, click on the spell you want in the "Available Spells" box and then press the DOWN arrow key (which will put it in the "Known Spells" box).
Good luck!

Thank you Dondi. Your detailed explanation of how to do it with GK worked. I would never have figured that out on my own (it was that UP Arrow thingy). The real lesson here is don't blindly memorize every spell you come across. I don't want to cheat anything into the game, just want to correct a poor decision on spell selections.
BTW, I highly recommend a two member party for a fun game in either BG1 or BG2. Not as insanely difficult as a solo game but very challenging and interesting just the same. Strategery is the key.
