Can I Use These? Spoiler

Post by davfra »

I have just started from the beginning again (thanks be to Dungeon Be Gone - What a great idea!).
I have a sword which is labled `An ogres voice has asked for this sword, claiming it will break the illusion cast over her`.
I also have 3 swords from the villains in the Den of Seven Vales. These are Cursed Berserker Sword + 3.
Is it possible to remove the curse? I`ve tried a scroll spell but That doesn`t work.
they`re worth 300 gold pieces each, so they must have some value.
Cheers

In a word, no. ;) The curse is part of the sword. It can't be removed.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

The sword labled 'An ogres voice has asked for this sword, claiming it will break the illusion cast over her' is used for breaking the illusion that has transformed Aerie into an Ogre. Didn't you gave it back to her (in the Circus Tent in Waukeen's Promenade) ?

Well, I certainly slipped up there! I`ve got Aerie in my party. I just didn`t realise it was hers. Mind you, I`d never put her near enough to the enemy to use a sword. She`s far too useful at a distance.

No No No....
You misunderstood me there. Speaking to her and giving her the sword will dispel the illusion that makes her look like an ogre, she doesn't need to actually use the sword. The sword should disappear afterwards...
I'm curious, how did you change her back without giving the sword to her ?

I have absolutely no idea! I remember now on playing the game previously that it is to turn her back. How I managed it this time I don`t know!

you can leave her in her ogre state and go straight to the top of the dome to save Quayle. When killing the gnome all illusions are dispelled. Aerie will also be turned to normal and if you have the sword it does not always disappear.
If you do free Aerie from her ogre state first the sword should disappear or you have a bug in your program.
