NPC levels do they go up?

Post by Hobbes82 »

Lets say you are playing and you are pretty high of level , lets say 13th level, and you want viconia in your party. Will her level be base at the start of game or will it go up as needed through out game , even though you don't have. It would be more enticing to players to switch up parties in game. :D :D

NPC's starting level will depend on your level when you first meet them. In your case, with the protagonist at level 13, Viconia will be at level 13. This happen only if you haven't met that NPC yet, as the level is determined by comparing your level when you first meet them.
So if Viconia level up to 15, while she was in your party, and you removed her. Did a lot of other quests and such things, when she rejoin, she will still be level 15, no matter how high your protagonist's level is.

There is also a limit for NPC levels, I believe the highest they can be is around 13, depending on their class. This is when you first meet them.

Possibly?
I remember asking Korgan to join me late in the game, before going through the Underdark.
And he didn't seem to struggle against the Drow. I would assume they do level up, but then again that's just my assumption.
