"Improper character" at the gates of LUSKAN ?

Does anybody know what`s the problem ?

I`ve solved almost all quests at the Port Llast. I`ll get the key to Luskan after i`ve slayed the sergant. But then....

Game tells me that my character is "inproper ??" (bard 10, fighter 2, rogue 1)

Help ?

I think, you only need to talk to the sergeant, not kill him. He is a friend of the spymaster (you talked to him before heading to Luskan?). He will then open the gate.

Still "invalid character".....

Problem is, that sergant attacks me, no matter what i do !

Still, guy has a key and when i open the gate, new module starts loading, everything is ok, but the "invalid character" ????

Game offers me new characters and all of them are at 1st level ???

Did you kill the guards before getting the permission to enter the gates? At an ealier time?

I've not really got advice you could use, other then a possible reload

..... yes i did kill the guards.

Accidently. I´m very sorry, but they started it... honest.

But still.... come on.

You get the key..... This punishment is too much.

Hmm that error normally pops up between chapeters and only if your character has been tampered with in some way i.e. manually setting STR to 30 etc. or by a bug that may have caused something like this. You can edit one of the game files (probably an ini in the game directory) and set the inproper character check to zero from 1.

If this doesn't solve it repost and I'll take another look.

Yesterday I read about GM commands, that some people use to make their characters invincible or give them ub0r stats (like Tobias said).

Did you use such console commands, bogkerosin?

Honest play ! Honest...

No, i did not do any "alterations" to my character. Just normal playing, i did free the DEMON in Helm hold. Maybe god is giving me some kind of punishment ? (i killed the sergant also)

Funny thing is that, game allows me to go on with pre-rolled 1st level guys.... and they will be killed in no time - as expected...

Alterations also include programs like Leto. But Leto is really nice if you hit the subrace button and accidentally typed something in during character creation. Having a subrace of some random characters kind of sucks.

And I thought illegal characters was determined by skill points, not stat points?

PROBLEM SOLVED !!!!

OK.

I don`t know why game didn`t like my character but....

1. I opened file nwnplayer.ini
2. There is a line "Single Player Enforce Legal Characters=1"
3. Change that value to "=0"
4. Save the file !

...game goes on !!!
