Where to install Trials of the Luremaster?

Post by dragon wench »

I have recently bought the IWD series (great deal, IWD,HOW and IWD2 for $40 Cdn :D )

Anyway, I am really enjoying the game, even if it is simply a shameless dice and slice dungeon crawl, so I have downloaded Trials of the LureMaster (note: I do have HOW installed).

Since I am somewhat phobic about viruses I downloaded the file without opening it and placed it into my "Icewind Dale" Folder, from where I installed it onto my computer. Will it work installed from here, or do I need to install it anywhere else, like the "Override" or something?

I am still working on the original IWD, so it will be a bit before I even get to this, but I just wanted to check :)

Cheers!

I believe that if you just run the installation program, ToTL will be installed and can be accessed via HoW.

lol! Thanks :D

I just entered HOW and checked in the Inn, where I found the one character that offers to take you to the Haunted Castle, so apparently my installation worked :D

Incidentally, I would highly recommend the IWD "Ultimate Collection" to anyone. (includes IWD, HOW, IWD2, the IWD soundtrack, as well as strategy guides to IWD and HOW) It offers many hours of entertainment for an extremely reasonable price. (I had also been considering the NWN expansion but I ended up getting this for the same price :D )
As has been extensively discussed, it does not have the scope or depth of BG2 or PS:T. But the unabashed hack & slash strategy challenge is a lot of fun, the graphics are decent and the music is surprisingly good for a game. Unlike some other games I have played, I don't find myself turning my speakers off all that often. :)

Heh, I've recently picked up HoW again since as newly getting digital cable I just had to find a nice download to try:ToTLM, which took under 6 minutes (which is crazy for me since I had dial up for years and a download that size would have taken most the night). HoW is a nice change of pace, you miss out on the travails of monster hordes in BGII for the most part. And as the seasons change it seems to be turning to IWD...
Tired of working here wanted a holiday was thinking of retiring probably going to die. Time to move on under down... down down.

I just got the ultimate collection off amazon.com for $21.44 (that includes shipping). Pretty good deal I think.
