Dual wielding in TOB

Post by glory »

Is it just me or does dual wielding in TOB cause you to get the crap knocked out of you...don't get me wrong its nice when you have someone to tank while you hack away from behind them but in TOB sometimes they throw so many enemies at you at once that everyone becomes a tank...dual wielding with AC at like -7 to -10 just does not seem to work very well...i mean my paladin has -16 AC and -18 with defensive harmony using answerer and a shield and he still gets hit because there are so many enemies attacking at once...

just my thoughts on dual wielding in TOB

That is why there is about a zillion healing potions in the game :)

If that's true, they'll beat my party completely senseless in ToB. My main character has an AC of -11 (dualwielding long/short swords), Minsc (Axes) and Anomen (Flail of Ages) -12, Aerie (Crom Faeyr) has -10 and Imoen (Staff of the Magi) -8. I guess this means I'll have to be very careful ;)

It may seem like I'm doing nothing, but on cellular level, I'm really quite busy...

You just need to have 3-4 characters who can go hand to hand well, like kensia mage or ranger/cleric to make your casters able to go toe2toe as well.

MegaToerist: Ha, I beat the game and my AC was crap. My main character: Dual wielding archer, Bows were no longer so effective so I was reduced to it, had a -4 ac, Keldorn had -6, and Minsc -8, the game is still beatable, just rush in your tanks and *then* your main char so you won't have 7 bone fiends surrounding you and pounding the crap out of you before your other teammates arrive.

I finished it at "Normal", my main character was a paladin and the best AC any party member had was -12, the rest was at -6 to -9.

There's more to combat than just rushing in... :D

Let me help about that -18 Ac, from what I heard, the game only registers -10 AC . But that what I heard. Though my main fighter Berserker, dual wields Bastard Sword +5(one you make) and Answer+4. Sure he gets hit, but about as much as the character that is with a 2h sword. He has 4 attacks per turn. -11thaco
main hand -8 off hand and he only lvl 22. So Just run in a start wacking away. And if you get hit jut use those potions of extra healing and if needed use of superior healing. And if you are damaged to much just have your cleric cast heal. Other than that the fighters have been uped really good in this game. I can now proudly say that this what a damn fighter should do. :D
Trap? What trap!? Ah shi....!!!!
