Dragon Disciplie, Epic Levels and Wizards

Post by Solfi »

I have a few questions concerning leveling above 20, and the Dragon Disciple Prestige Class:

- In the description of the Dragon Disciple prestige class, when they speak of "Epic levels, 21+", do they mean levels in the actual prestige class, or the total amount of levels? For instance if I have a level 14 Sorcerer, level 9 Dragon Disciple, does it count as level 9 (Dragon Disciple level) or as level 23 (14 + 9) for the purpose of acquiring Epic Levels of the Dragon Disciple class?

- If I level one of the "standard" classes above 20, what are the benefits of continuing to level with that class? For instance, if I have a Wizard, leveling above 20 does not give you any higher levels of spells (since there are none), and I haven't seen any notes that suggests more feats or anything else that would be attractive. Thus, isn't the logical step to multiclass the character with a class that will give the character more "rewards per level" so to say?

- When they talk about epic levels it means anything that adds to above 20 in any combination of classes (you can't go above 10 for your RDD anyway), and your character will recieve an epic character feat.

- You will still be an epic character, but you won't be epic in any specified class. For example, if you have a cleric that is lvl 21+, he/she will recieve an epic character feat along with epic cleric feat, after that you will be able to recieve additional epic cleric feats as you progress in levels, which is not available if you multi class and your character in any class is below level 21. That is the difference, you will be an epic character, you just won't be an epic cleric, and you won't recieve those epic cleric feats. I'm not entirely sure on spells, didn't play a spellcaster in HotU yet, but you should be able to get that information on one of the websites, bioware, or on this website in a little while, when they update to HotU info...

thanks for the reply. Here's something else I've been wondering, pertaining specifically to the Dragon Disciplie Prestige Class:

- When a Dragon Disciple reaches the level where he grows wings - does the wings have any practical use, or is that just something they added because they thought it looked cool?

I don't think there's a meaning to them besides looking cool :)
