watcher's keep lvl 4 bugged? *beware of spoiler*

okay, so i run around killing things all over eager to finsih the story of of the game. after wiping the floor with 4 out of the five major bhaal spawns, i realize i haven't done watcher's keep. so i head over there before i get to a point of no return in the story and try it out. (yes, i missed a LOT of interesting items like the foebane and stuff, but that's not so bad). i breeze through lvls 1-3 and then hit lvl 4. i cleared out the illiaths, gavankis (spelling?), demi lich, and the dragon. all through this, i still can't find the second half of the key for the illiath room, nor have i been able to open that stupid door with the 6 torches. anyone know if there is a bug for this lvl?
i used the pattern i found on either side of that machine with the colors to use for the torches. (the one on the bottom left goes bronze, bronze, purple, while the other side near the fountain goes blue, purple, bronze.) i've spent HOURS trying to figure this stupid thing out and still haven't seen any combination work. i also haven't been able to find the second half of the key and i've checked EVERY chest/holding spot within the level area available to me. am i just doing something wrong or is there a bug on this floor? i don't want a walkthrough or anything, just want someone to tell me if this lvl is working properly. thanks.

It works properly.

Both parts of the Illythid rod are in the Illythid complex. Hit TAB to highlight the places you need to search. The complete rod is crucial for opening a door behind which you find an item necessary to open another door.

Lemark - I think it is the color on your monitor that's the problem - I think your "bronze" is actually red.

there are three colours of oil.
red, blue & purple.

the 2nd half of the key is being carried by a mindflayer in the southmost room of the m-f area.

what dragon & demi-lich? i went through that area and never saw either. did i miss something or was that a scaleable encounter?

There is a dragon and a demi-lich on lvl 4. The dragon and the lich are both in rooms connected to the Githyanki Camp. I didn't kill the dragon though. What does he give you?

yeah, figured it out. turns out the stupid rod piece of the mind flayer fell next to the door of his room! argh, i couldn't see loot because of it. eitherway, i found it and got a red oil i needed. silly me, i had no idea there was a red oil. ^_^

to answer the loot thingy for the dragon...
the dragon drops a +4 dagger. erm...not a great item, but still a +4 =)
and some gold and stuff.
also, you get 64k exp for killing him. =)
not bad for some extra exp.
