Undead - Spoiler

Post by davfra »

Will someone please tell me how to handle those greater mummys? They walk through everything I try.
I have spells up to and including 6th level in both classes but nothing seems to work.
I have Ananom who I think I read was good at this, but how?
Whatever, when I`m finished here, I`m going to lock him in one of the cells and leave the miserable ###### to rot.
Hope you can help cos I`m so missing Jaheira!
Cheers

Hightlight for spoiler

only one word.... sunray. It will most probably kill all those pesky undead in one go. You can get a sword in the gate distrikt that allows u to cast sunray once everyday which is why undead shouldn't be much of a problem ;) , oh and anomen's turn undead can also do miracles with undead... but only if he is of a high enough lvl...

Thanks for that. I have the sword with sunray and Aerie has the spell.
I wasn`t sure how to use it.
I`ll give it a go.

just run close to the undead and you can deal up to 1000 points of dmg depending on your lvl.... check the description of the spell... really awsome against undead ;)

It's also a great spell to use in higher level triggers.

Sunray is a very good spell. Bolt of Glory (Lvl 6 Cleric spell) is another decent spell against them, from my experience.

BTW, garazdawi, check your PM, please.

worked a treat! Can`t believe I`ve gone all through the graveyard bit with that sword and didn`t know a bout the special ability! I needed Aerie`s spell as well. Just walked her into a room of undead, cast the spell , roomful of dead undead!

Well..

Actually Azuredge (even un-upgraded) and that sword with Sunray are both better vs. undead, IMAO.

The poor old mace can't even HIT most of the tougher undead
I have given up all lesser evils as inadequate to my purpose.

Well, you know that the Mace of Disruption +2 universally functions as a +5 weapon based upon what it can hit, right? That does include various undead.

Hmm..

That's not been my experience - I'm pretty sure I've had "xxx is immune to my damage" when using it against the more substantial undead. I could be mistaken though - anyone have more definitive info?

In any case, Azuredge is still a better weapon, being from a useful group (axes) as opposed to the depressingly lame maces available in SoA/TB, and being usable in RANGED attacks, wee!

they were probably liches, with protection from magic weapons up....

but yeah, i completely agree with nephtu...i found out that un-upgraded azuredge will kill liches reliably...certain encounters in tactics mod and improved battles still fall to the incredibly unfair tactic of sending in minsc with improved haste, and targetting the lich before it puts up combat protections...2-4 hits, and they die instantly...ranged upgraded azuredge, and improved haste is an utter killing machine... :D

The main advantage of the +2 Mace over Azuredge is that the former protects from level drain. But if you get the ItemUpgrade mod you can decide which one you want to upgrade.

Daystar, Mace of disruption, That throwing axe from Julov.. Bolt of glory, false dawn, sunray.. or even protection from undead scrolls, makes you invisible to them.

NOTE, using protection from undead can really f**k the game up, as you are invisible certain undead cant initiate dialog with you, so i dont really like using it.
