Killing Helseth = Thread of the Prophecy Broken?

Post by Courthead »

Whenever I kill Helseth, it tells me that the thread of the prophecy has been broken and I'm assuming this means I can't complete the main quest.

However, I've already beaten Tribunal's main quest so does his death really affect anything at all? Or is he somehow related to other quests?

Its hard wired into his character to give you that message. Obviously if you've done the main Tribunal quest and then kill him afterward its of no consquence. Its the same as if you kill Vivic after killing Dagoth Ur. Its programmed to show you the message but he's expendible at that point. There are no other quests that he plays a role in.

Same with Divayth Fyr, it took me by shock when I killed him and it came up.

If you do kill Helseth before you have killed Dagoth Ur, can you still complete the main quests?

If you mean the main quest with Dagoth Ur, then yes, you can kill the King. But you MUST keep the king alive if you wish to beat the Tribunal game.
