I was screwing around with the second party I'd ever made and decided to slay all of Hommlet When I fought Terjon he showed me the beauty of cleave and greater cleave, and I promptly made a 3rd party. In it, is my current favorite PC Tarlyn the fighter.
He started with 18 dex, 17 str & con (both bumped to 18 with ability bonuses at lvls 4&8). His feats:
-Two weapon fighting
-Combat reflexes
-Power attack
-Cleave
-Great Cleave
-Weapon Focus (longsword)
-Weapon Specialization (longsword)
-Greater Weapon Focus (longsword)
-Improved Two weapon fighting
There's nothing like running him into the center of a room to have him be surrounded, and then an attack of opportunity resulting in a cleave, which results in a great cleave, which chains as long as there are people around him. It's just freakin amazing.

Abash the Devil stood, and felt how awful goodness was
I was always a big fan of the dual wielding toons (especially fighter dual cleric in 2nd)...
But...the polearms are way to strong to be ignore in ToEE, even if the polearm was doing 1d4 and no crit, I would still use it...yet, the damage is still sweet and among the best (d10 or so for most and X3 crit make it deadly).
Even a basic longspear is very strong, especially with the fact all toons can wield 1 and be hugging each other, if mob01 rush toon1, toon 1 might not get an AoO, but toon2 & toon3 does I still dont understand when the toon under attack got or not the AoO, must be something related to the distance the mob does before attacking, but unsure...often get it as well, but not always.
(AoO should not get extra cleave attacks, that is way to deadly hehe)
On the early game, you might enjoy whatever weapon Fruella is using, 1d10 crit on 17-20 for X2 and only 1hs...
