When i beat the game with a gaurdian I had all the force speed tree filled, the force push, the stasis field, and the cure heal trees. If you want to have a staff lightsaber or two lightsabers you should definately get master two weapon fighting and flurry. I did this and was unbeatable. Also, I suggest that your party members be Jolee and Juhani. Jolee is a consular and Juhani is another guardian so you won't have to be the only melee fighter in the party.

Fill the tree on Speed, valor, push and Stasis. Heal is good, too, but Soldier/Guardians don't get as much from it as the other classes. Go three across on two- weapon, toughness, Crit. strike, Flurry, and conditioning. Personally, I like scouts better because you get the Implants for free and don't lose many hit points, but a level three implant would be good, also. (the cyber power system con+4makes up for any HP you lose being a scout/guardian) Use two sabers, both with Opila, one with sigil, one with solari. Go 14 on your first three attributes, 12 on your last (if you want to pull away from anything, go Intelligence, soldiers don't get many skills, anyway.) put all level ups into strength, all skill into heal. Get the CNS enhancer from Dantooine, Dominator Gauntlets from Mika Dorin (also good are the Genoharadan Power Gloves, Dominators cost like 30000 cred.), Cyber reaction implant from Eli on Kashyyyk (or if you can afford it, Gordulan reaction from Mika Dorin on Korriban), and the Vepine Ocular Enhancer, which is also on Korriban. You should be pretty well indestructible, but Malak will still make you heal.

just my opinion....
They are, in fact, expressions inspired by demons and they go forth to the kings of the entire inhabited earth to gather them together to the war of the great day of God the Almighty. And they gathered them together to the place that is called in Hebrew Har-Maged'on - Revelations 16:14,16

For a soldier / guardian, you should select 8 intelligence. That will give you 1 skill point per level. To get 2 skill points per level, you need 14 intelligence, which isn't worthwhile. (If you want skill points, you should play a scout or scoundrel.)

If you primarily want to be a melee character, you should go soldier 8, guardian 12. You'll get more feats and fewer Jedi powers that way.

Guys, if you're going to discuss stuff that gives the location or cost of expensive items, please put SPOILER in the title of your threads--and if the thread isn't yours, put it at the head of your posts. We've received complaints, and their warranted. I'll change the thread title, here. Thanks.

I'm thinking about getting a Soldier/Consular, and I think it would be a pretty kicking combination with soldiers feats, and Consulars force powers....

Considering Stasis I'd take the Sneak Attack of a Scoundrel any day...

Many people (myself included) prefer the bonus feats and VP from taking soldier before consular... after all, scoundrel/consular is the weakest class combination in the game, and stasis isn't guaranteed to work.

As with most class combinations, there are equivalent arguments for both sides.

The Verpine Ocular Enhancer is just Dex+1. I like it because I have been having trouble getting Mika Dorin to talk to me ( I think I pissed him off when I insulted his wife... ). But seriously, I just use it to round out my Dex levels w/o spending attribute points. My saves were in the 20's with my characters, so that wasn't a need. It's pretty cheap to buy, so you could try it both ways. BTW, it's at the Czerka shop on Korriban and it costs 750 Credits, at least on the XBOX.

One other thing. You never said if you had Xbox or Pc but the Pc version has headgear called the Circlet of Saresh that gives Wis+5. Add that to your Star forge robes (available on Deck 2) and your force powers would be almost irresistable. It's supposed to be on Kashyyyk, but I've got the Xbox so its unavailable to me. :( it was quite a source of irritation when I did my scoundrel/consular.

In the round I waste casting force storm, which does a maximum of 60 damage, I could be shelling out over three times that with my saber. That's why.

i dont think i've ever done 180 damage even with a soldier/guardian combo level 20 with dominator gauntlets and master flurry maxed, how did you do that much damage?

Take a look at my last post in this thread. That's with one single saber, and the calculated average damage per round is about 152. If you're serious about doing the most damage possible, you can apply the same crystal configuration to a double-bladed saber and end up with a weapon that does 26-54, and then stick an extra attack - the damage range per round becomes 130-270, and the average damage output per round is then 200. No force power can compare with the sheer damage a good lightsaber can do. When I'm fighting Malak, I actually consider his use of lightning a respite.
