Hello everyone,
This is my first post at the forums, and I can tell that you are a very knowlegable group.
I am having trouble with Lothandar and Marek at Baldur's Gate. I have been told that I am poisoned. I underwent the "quest" to get the 2 halves of the antidote.
I am still poisoned, though. Just to be sure, I even drank both halves of the antidote, and still nothing.
I was wondering if it was a glitch in my game, because when I went to collect Marek's half of the antidote, I couldn't initiate a conversation with him. Because of this, I simply killed him and took the antidote. Also, when I talked to Lothandar first, he gave me his half and told me to get the other half from Marek. He then proceeded to leave the room, disappeared, then reappeared in the exact same spot. When I speak to him again, he asks if I have the Geas Removal Spell again.
I hope I'm making sense.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

did u get the gease spell from the water queen's house? you have to give this gease spell to Lothandar and then he will heal you. Drinking Marek's poison will NOT cure you. You need Lothandar to do that.

You can trick Jalantha Mistmyr so that she gives you the scroll at no charge.... I'll leave it to you to find out how

Yes, I did get the Geas Removal Scroll from the priestess. I even resorted to using the CLUAConsole:CreateItem cheat to create the scroll (Item code SCRLJALA) when I wasn't cured the first time. I still am poisoned, though (it keeps telling me that I cannot keep my meal down and that I must be poisoned, or something to that effect).

What comes to releasing lothander from his curse, go to House (or was it hall) of the lady, get the book of wisdom, give it to Jalantha in exchange for gease, kill her and loot the book back
The andidote wont do a ****. There's a trigger in the convo with Marek that cures you from the poison, after that you get the 10 use antidote but you dont have to drink it.

The problem is that the people with the most ridiculous ideas are always the people who are most certain of them.
Yes, I have been able to get Lothandar's half of the antidote by getting the Geas Removal Scroll.
When I go and try to talk to Marek, though, it doesn't even start a conversation (my character just walks up to him to try and talk, and nothing happens). I tried talking to him with each of my six characters, and that didn't even work.
Do you think my copy of the game might have a bug?

That sounds like a bug to me... try loading a previous save and go from there... It's quite common that games like BG's PS:T and others that involve triggers inside conversations that they have to be activated in right order or else you wind up in a dead-end.. I love PS:T but i hate the fact the game is so buggy that it actually made my first run through pretty confusing and i was able to understand the end only after reading the walkthrough to know what really was suppose to happen..
