Secret Caldera Ledger

Post by Foss »

In the "fort" in Caldera on the 1st floor in a room there are 2 chests and closet logged and trapped.

In one of the chests there are a Secret Caldera Ledger, and when you read it, it said that it:
"shows some mining has been done and that some of that has been transported to some other place(can't remember the name).
And it seems that someone is fundraising his own project."

Well, it seems that something illegal is being done, but are there anyone who are interested in this, anyone I can tell or give this Ledger to?

I'm not a 100% sure since I haven't played Morrowind in a while, but I think that is part of House Radoran quest.

Possible spoilers

Its can be part of three different quests. Spoilers...

1. The Imperial Cult's head almoner in Ebonheart will ask you to make the Caldera Mines boss man in the big mansion make good on his pledge. He will put you off and get nasty if you press to hard. Talk to the orc guard up the stairs and he will give you a hint that the boss is skimming ebony. Find the ledger and threaten to expose the boss man. He will give you 3 pieces of ebony that you can sell to raise the 500 gold he pledged.

2. If you join House Hlaalu Crassius Curio (or whatever his name is) will give you a bunch on quests to keep an eye on this Caldera Mine boss and his lackies. One of those quests will be to find evidence of corruption (the ledger) and then take it to an agent in Ft. Buckmoth. After that the Caldera creeps are arrested and never seen again.

3. If you join House Redoran one of the Councilors (Lletheri, I think) will ask you to shut down the Caldera Mines. First he wants you to find evidence of corruption and bring it to him. After you bring him the ledger he asks you to find a way to shut down the mines. There are a couple of ways to shut them down and you should be able to figure those out if you get the quest. Just don't take any action against the mines until you bring him the book or it screws up the quest.
