Space station

Does the space station have new goods to offer if you return to it at various times during the game?

Yep - it does.
Return a few times after you find some star maps for some small encounters and then for some new merchandies.

Return after the third and fifth starmap.

You also might want to play some Pazaak against the guy inside, when you win 10times he gives you a 10% (or was it 20%) discount on buying and buys from you for more.
I do not have the touch, nor do I have the power.

I'll try Pazaak more often with him, then. His deck is very good, but I've beaten him 3 out of 4 games. Hopefully, the discount countdown doesn't reset when you lose. ;)

Addendum: his deck seemed to suddenly improve after those early games, during my first visit. Has anyone else wondered how he manages to pull just the right sidedeck to hit 20 3 times out of 4 with its aid?

He always draws +/- cards between 1 and 5, never more than one of the same kind. It's more the ease with which he seems to get natural twenties and consecutive low draws when I'm trying to outlast him that makes me suspicious.

But, as always, he's beatable.
