Diamond and frost wand - spoiler

Post by G$$ »

I need a diamond to upgrade the silver horn and just can't find one to buy.

I also need a wand of frost to complete the quest I got from the limited wish spell.

I have done just about every quest except these two, the Harpers and Kangaxx and I am sure that I have had both these items at one time or another but can't seem to find a diamond to buy or any wands. Doesn't someone sell wands?

Also, I am confused about the battle with Bodhi. Don't I have to clear out that vampire lair before I an get onto the boat for spellhold? I never meet Drizzt there and never find any treasure in the spiked room when I do this. The walkthrough says it is for chapter 6 but how can you wait that long? Am I supposed to do it twice?

Thanks

Well, I can answer part...

You do indeed fight Bodhi twice. (assuming you side with the Shadow thieves in Chapter 3)

I can't help with the other two - I've got about 4 frost wands and a slew of diamonds on my Chapter 3 party, but I don't remember whose corpses I pried them from - and, since I'm playing tactics, it wouldn't necessarily help you any if I did.

Good luck!

There is something in the walkthrough of the gov't section that has a diamond in the eye of a statue near Pimlico's house but I couldn't find which statue they meant.

You can find the frost wand in the irenicus dungeon putting the keys in the statues...for the diamonds I always find lots there is one at the umar hills in the cave with the 2 umberhulks and the mimic that you need to take the blood to the cowled wizard in the area......there is another when you do the copper coronet and hendak kill lenthian you find several gems with him try to see if you selled the diamond to bernard the copper coronet storekeep....

a diamond you may well have missed is in the umar hills temple (of amaunator), in the eye of the statue that you perform the rites to. You have to tell your person to loot it while the statue is in fog of war though (and its trapped)

Yes, but if you are using it to give to the Ogre mage in the Gong Quest, you don't want to waste the money recharging it. I always give him the one from Irenicus' dungeon. You don't even need to identify it. ;)

i think youll find that you do need to. But items dont need to be indentified to hand in for quests anyway.

I don't think I understand your point. Your second sentence contradicts the first.

Since you are giving it to the Ogre Mage you don't need to identify it. Thus, you save the expense (or wasted spell) in addition to giving him an item which would not have been very useful to you in the first place. I do this just about every time I play.

the quickest way to get a wand of frost is from the reshaka or whatever who sells potions in the druid grove. You're probably supposed to get it from her since she is so close to the ogre and frost is the only wand type she sells
