Hi,
I'm new to this forum.
I have been playing through the entire BG saga with a friend. We have both been using standard 56k modems.
We have recently upgraded to ISDN but another friend wants to join in at 56k.
Can anyone tell me if there will be much increased lag in the game when going from 2 player to 3 players.
Note: the server we use (one of our machines) is a P3 800 mhz and is one of the ISDN connections.
Many thanks in advance for your help.
2 to 3 player multiplayer
I can't really judge the effects on your connection and/or machine, but unless the third person lives really close to one of the others there will be more delays at the loading screen part where it sends the game to the other players. The game only continues after it's been sent to everybody, and the more players, the higher the odds of someone having this delay. For this reason, I'm not sure I would want to play a game with five other players. Loading would be horror. If one loses connection, all others have to wait for three minutes for the timeout.
