Protaganist Problem in Multiplayer

Post by fisab »

Hi All,

I play BG as a multiplayer game with a friend.
In the multiplayer section of the manual it says that the protaganist does not have to be played by the host machine.
For some reason as the client I have never been allowed take control of the protaganist. The host always has control (the relevant stone is greyed out for me). Full permissons are always given to the client by the way.
Am I missing something ??

Note, there was no problem with this in BGI, only BG2.

Many thanks in advance for any help on this issue.

As far as I could tell the server is always the one playing the protagonist. However, other players can still play Bhaalspawns, provided they export/import a protagonist from their own game. These Bhaalspawn will only be Bhaalspawn in the sense that they can carry over Hell bonuses or Improved Bhaalspawn Powers (should you have installed it). They will not receive the Slayer Change or any of the starter Bhaalpowers, and the game won't treat them any different for being Bhaalspawn.
