Dodgy sound

I recently installed Icewind Dale II. I went to play it and the sound is really fuzzy and wierd. I've installed direct x, the latest version. I also reinstalled my audio driver. You go any suggestions?

Are you running WindowsNT?
If so you have to select an option in the config-menu under audio.
You could decide to change audioquality to a lower level and see if it works correctly then.

I am running windows xp. any other suggestions?
