Number of kills at the end of SoA

Post by Bruce Lee »

How many creatures are there to be killed. I am currently soloing an archer, she didn't take on everything but she I did every sidequest so the number should be pretty high.
Look at the info screenshot from before the final fight.
And share yours please :)
I started a new game aswell to see how many fights can be avoided, to try to minimize the number of kills. Ofcourse I had to play a thief for that and it is very easy, you can basically just run through the game. I have just entered the underdark and have 48 kills to my name with the swashie.

I tried something similar to your latter suggestion, only I minimized experience instead of kills. But even so, I ended the game with a party of six at around level 14.

In your maximum kill game, do you include innocent bystanders? I have contemplated playing an evil game where I went through the game normally then, when reputation was no longer beneficial, go back and lob fireballs into all the inns and set demons loose on the streets. Trouble is, I really don't enjoy playing evil characters, so I've never gotten around to trying it.

I played as an archer and my rep is 20. I am not killing innocent bystanders hehe. I don't like playing evil as mych either. The dialogue is mych better if you are a hero.
I was trying to minimize kills and experience but I have to get out of the underdark somehow and I don't want to trapkill adalon. I thought the drow guards could be bribed but it doesn't seem so :(

(spoiler)

I was able to get past the drow door guards, but I don't remember exactly what dialogue string did it for me, or if it required a certain stat (like high wisdom or high charisma). I know I had already agreed to help Adalon, so I was disguised as a drow. If you talk to them looking like a drow, you can convince them you're needed on the surface, and they open the door for you. I wanted to finish the underdark stuff though, so I can't tell you what if anything happens if you leave the underdark in disguise (do you have to fight the elves?)

Ah thats it thanks, I went there before seeing adalon hehe. No wonder they wouldn't let a little halfing lass out.
Still I did they Ust Natha quests without getting involved to much. Only a few selective kills.

I think you have to be in the good graces of the Matron Mother before the guards will let you out. I only did this once, though, so I may be mistaken.

Okay you may be right. I have already finished the game now and I failed to go under 100 kills. No point in continuing this sneak adventure in ToB as you have less of a choice in what you do there.
Anyway it was pretty cool still. I did finish quite alot of sidequests. I did the unseeing eye, kangaxx, bridge district, umar hills, trademeet, de arnise, hendak and sahaguin city(spelling?) and still just reached the SoA cap.
Swashbucklers are such a great class really. Very fun to play, for me anyway.

Well...

I checked my recent run-throughs, and here are the kill numbers (all full parties):

Velketor 1496 kills late in Chapter 3 (Tactics, did most of Watcher's keep & the Ritual)
Deodand (Tactics) 1651 at end of SoA, 2687 at end of ToB
Inziladun (Vanilla) 1830 at end of SoA, 3318 at wnd of ToB

Generally, I've done all the side quests, but not usually done "needless" killing like the temples or thieve's guild once you're done with them.
I have given up all lesser evils as inadequate to my purpose.

Thats a lot of killing!
The cal-culator thing doesnt seem to be working. He only says you have slain dwarves, you have slain orcs etc, not how many. A pity really.
