never tombs...help me....
Maybe my games messed up, but I cant seem to find the last Never tomb. Its Supposed to be located in the NW corner/aqueducts of the docks district.
Ive already beaten the bloodsailors in there, etc., and had the old man send me in the boat to where the rival bloodsailors were arguing. I beat all of them and went back up through the sewer grate into the docks district again.
I cant find the chest to put the ancient sword into (a chest with a riddle regarding the sword). Can someone tell me where exactly the chest is, or the door? (The chest should be beside the door anyway).
Or is it in an entirely different location than the aqueducts??
Grrrrr........

I have no door in my game here???
I have no doors in this area of the game. Im wondering if I have a previously unkown bug??
Here is scenario..
I ran across bridge, talked to old man. He sends me up the river on a "mysterious boat", (which I can no longer take now after defeating the rival bloodsailors up the river).
I can run either east or west in the area with the boat and old man. If I run east, i run across alittle stream, then into a blank wall with no chest or anything. If I run west, I run into another blank wall. There is a chest and a box off to the side of this area, but there are no markings of significance on the chest, and it sits next to water at end of a short pier.
Hmm.....
P.s....my game has run FLAWELESS until this point...Im really wondering whats up?

The door should have 4 bombadier beetles (I think) in front of it also.
And you have to cross a few streams down there to get to the west wall, wich should have the door on it.
But it is west _before_ crossing the brigde to the Charon, whom sends you sailing.
I can't really phantom that a bug should be able to change the module/Area in that manner.
Otherwise try checking out the walkthough for that area, it has a map of the area. It might help.

well for gods sake.....
THANK YOU SO MUCH for the info and the walkthrough map.
It turns out, I was in the NW building (aqueducts), with the bridge you cross to get to the old man and the boat.
INSTEAD, I should have run downstairs at the silver sails building, where after defeating a bloated dire spider, ANOTHER door opens into the aqueducts.
Im already well into chapter 2, but now Im gonna have to axe all of that and go back to my one quicksave in chapter one, and start all over. LOL!!
And since you'll probably answer this post Xan..I have another puzzling question.
I cant seem to bash any locked doors. Im a fighter weilding double longswords, and Ive also tried the double axe, crossbows, etc. but it always says "your weapon has no effect on the target", and it does no damage. I get the same many times with chests too. Is there a specific weapon I need to bash locked doors? My henchman rogue can bash once in awhile, but I cant?
(And yes, I know some doors are "key-specific").

The bashing of the doors is a "complex" matter.
Doors/chests (can) have damage reduction, wich means that they shallow up some of your damage.
This means that some chests/doors can only be damaged by enchanted weapons. (+1 and upwards)
Some have so high damage reduction that they can only be damaged by elemental damage (fire, acid, cold, lightning, sonic). So when you find such a weapon you will be able to bash more.
Some tips for basing if you are a fighter is, try using power attack/imp. power attack to get higher damage to see if that bypasses. I've often gotten the message that my weapon is ineffective, and then using power attack some of the damage surpased the damage reduction.
For instance, if the door has damage reduction +1/20 - it means that it will absorb 20 points of damage, unless you have at least a +1 weapon. If you then do less then 20 damage per hit with an ordinary weapon you will be told that your weapon is ineffective. Swicthing on power attack then might bring your damage (on occasions).
There are however doors/chests that are practically undamageble. Then some other means must be found (picking lock/key or other actions)
This will also be an issue with monsters however, so you will learn about it fast. If you read the combat log, you will see how much damage of you swings are absorbed by damage reduction.
Hope this helps a little

I've got a Dragon Disciple with a magical scythe (+1) having some problem when attempting to bash almost any item; I have seen DRs of 5 (REALLY common - especially desks & armoirs), 10 (only slightly less common), 15 (quite a few), 20 (frequently), and even a few 40s (rarely, but notably the one in the Helm's Keep dungeons) - these have ben verified by watching for those criticals and seeing how much was actually soaked when damage managed to get applied..
That scythe is very handy for bashing things in because of its 4x criticals & 2d4 (+1) base; I use this when I am just wasting time. The Stonefire Axe is great for those items where I get tired of waiting for the crits to hit because of the +2 FIRE damage (decent crits itself).
I have yet to see a bash attempt with a magical weapon NOT show DR being applied (and I have seen items showing a DR of 5 and the "weapon inneffective" message - this is funny because the items causing this had enchantment bonuses, energy additions (the stonefire axe), and str mods totalling MORE than 5 before damage dice were rolled.

It may be better to be a live jackal than a dead lion but it is better still to be a live lion - and usually easier.
