Where can I find a rich alchemist, other than the one in Balmora?
I have stolen a masters pestle, but for some reason the Balmora fine alchemist won't bye it.
I have been searching for a rich alchemist for some time now, but haven't found any.
Please help me find one.
Have you stolen any alchemy equipment from the alchemist in Balmora? If so, then any equipment of that type will be flagged as stolen if you try to sell it to her, even if you aren't trying to sell her the one you stole from her.
I'm not sure where you can find another rich alchemist, but Vivec seems like it would be the best bet. If not there, try one of the Telvanni towns.
You will run afoul of both a common misconception and a family of bears.
Looks like I'm not gonna get rid of that mortar and pestle, atleast not for the right price.
I have searched in Vivec and some of the Telvanni towers.
I might follow your advice, User. When money is a bit low, I might make my own potions!
I have never tried it though... But I play with a pure magica user with some basic alchemy knowledge...
With the right equipment (grandmasters, that is) - many of the potions you can make are superior and weigh less than those that are sold, once your alchemy skill is high enough and you figure out what ingredients to combine.
There's nothing a little poison couldn't cure...
What happened here was the gradual habituation of the people, ... to receiving decisions deliberated in secret; to believing that the situation was so complicated that the government had to act on information which the people could not understand, or so dangerous that, even if he people could understand it, it could not be released because of national security.
make an int boosting potion, and have much ingrediants for int boost and magicka restore....
drink int boosting potion, make another one right away....repeat, and you can make super powered potions as soon as your int boosts to around 5000 (no typo!) since the potions stack you will see around boosts in the thousand points, and days long duration..then make some more int boosters and some magicka restores, then buy some obscenely overpowered damage spells, use the int potions and magicka restores and have much fun...
alchemy is a seriously obscenely overpowered skill
Thanks for the tips.
I don't think I'll be using your last INT boos trick, though. I have tried to make a 100% "fair" char, that means: No overpowered weapons or magic. No ridiculesly huge ability point boosts D ). No trainers. No mods. No level up boosts.
it's very hard...
This game is designed to be cheap for a reason so throw caution to the wind and revel in your godlike power. If the designers wanted to govern your actions they surely would have installed limits. Why punish yourself.. are you Catholic or something? There is nothing better than being able to fly across oceans and leap onto rooftops with the grace of a cat. I just wish the difficulty didn't limit at 100. It should be more like 200-300.
Once, just for fun, I wanted to find out just how many gaurds I could dispatch at once so I put it to the test. I went to Caldera, where there are about five gaurds, and attacked one (saving first of course). The rest came to his aid and within a minute or so they were all slain. I estimate that it would take about 10 of them if I stayed on the ground and fought melee. But all I have to do is levitate up out of range and fire arrows or cast magic. Simple enough.
The only thing that would make this game better is the addition of dragons. Why this was excluded is a mystery as they are the basis of the D&D world. It would make a great expansion for high level characters. hint hint.
Also with that int cheat you can enchant your own CE items for free and they are usually alot better than what the other NPC's would make, but alas i too am playing a "fair" character, well as fair as a theif can be .

I used to hate going to weddings because the old people would always say,"You Next! You Next!" Now I go to funerals and tell them the same thing.

I take it the "fine alchemist" is the high elf next to the clothier. Any of he mage guild alchemists should have enough gold to buy it off you. Have you tried selling it to the khajit mage in Balmora - the one that has you gather flowers and mushrooms? Creeper doesn't do alchemy gear or ingredients or unenchanted clothing or candles/lanterns. Pawnshops should buy alchemy gear.

**Gift of Speed**
--Fortify Speed, Restore Fatigue--
Use Moon Sugar and Kagouti Hide, Hackle-Lo Leaf and Saltrice (or Crab Meat)
This potion lets you run at an accelerated rate without tiring
**Comeback Kid**
--Lightning Shield, Fortify Mana, Restore Health, Restore, Fatigue--
Use Corkbulb Root, Crab Meat, Saltrice, and Stoneflower Petals.
This potion will put you back in fighting shape in a hurry, and
protects you from further injury with a lightning shield.
**Iron Man**
--Fortify Health, Fortify Strength--
Use Ash Yam, Dreugh Wax, Shalk Resin, and a Large Kwama Egg.
This potion will make you stronger and tougher, perfect for tough brawls.
**Lead Wall**
--Absorb, Reflect, Restore Mana, Paralyze--
Use Void Salts, Comberry, Fire Petal, and Hound Meat.
Intended for magic duels, this potion protects you with both absorb and
reflect, and also recharges your own magicka. Be sure to use an alembic
when preparing this potion though, as it does have the unfortunate side
effect of briefly paralyzing the user.
**Protector**
--Fortify Agility, Fire Shield, Lightning Shield--
Use Sload Soap, Fire Salts, Crab Meat, and Corkbulb Root.
This potion makes you harder to hit three different ways, and offers
resistance to fire and lightning as well. (Note that it is possible to
replace the lightning shield with a frost shield, by substituting the
corkbulb root and crab meat with willow anther and a large kwama egg).
**Eevle's Elixer**
--Fortify Health, Restore Health, Restore Fatigue, Fortify Magicka--
Use Emerald, Shalk Resin, Saltrice, and a Large Kwama Egg.
By combining the effects of fortify health and restore health, your health
will rise rapidly enough to survive most close calls. This potion also
restores fatigue and provides a magicka boost.
**Torpedo Juice**
--Swift Swim, Water Breathing, Restore Fatigue--
Use Scales, Scrib Jerky, Luminous Russula, and Hackle-Lo Leaf.
This potion will speed you through the water.
**Jacques Cousteau**
--Light, Water Breathing--
Use Hackle-Lo Leaf, Red Lichen, Luminous Russula, and Black Anther.
This potion is ideal for exploring shipwrecks, grottos and other dark
underwater areas.
I believe skills are expressed as a percent, so if you have a skill of 35 you have a 35 percent chance of success. The higher your skill the more likely it is that you will succeed. So even if you were level 1 you could find the master alchemist trainer, train your skill to 100 and every potion should work. I'm not sure if your level has anything to do with it. At skill 35 you'll get a ration of about 3:1. Translation: You'll get one good potion for every three you make -- if your lucky that is.. as many times the dice roll in the games favor... D'OH!
