How to defeat Greater Wolfwere

Post by Lp_First »

The thread bassically says it all...
I'm at Windspearhills dungeon, and encountera greater wolfwere and his minnions (wolfweres and some wolfs)... anyway, its easy to kill his minnions but cant seem to kill the greater wolfwere... eachtime i hit him until like badly injured, then on the next round he's status changed back to uninjured... i wander why that is...
any tips in killing this thing???

you have to focus all of your hitting power on one wolfwere at a time, slings bows and melee (spells are not that effective as they are highly resistant.

if you fail to kill them even then you can just trap them in any of the rooms in the dungeo. Just make them folllow one of your chars(that has haste cast on him). Lead them into a room with a door, and slam the dorr shut as you run out. Then you can come back later and whoop their ass ;)

Two answers:

Welcome to Game Banshee!

1) They sometimes get bugged (especially if you have a lot of reloads) and just won't die. (bummer)

2) Regen on greater wolfweres is very high, plus they're quite magic resistant. Basically, you have to split them out one by one and chop them to death (or use spells which bypass MR, like Sunfire). Doors can be very helpful in separating them. Traps, haste, backstabs and other fast high melee damage attacks are very helpful.

Have fun!

PS - search button is your friend - this one comes up all the time

I had this problem recently and found it impossible to kill the GWW - it doesn't merely regen, but resets to Uninjured pretty-much immediately.

If your party is powerful enough to kill the GWW in a single hit (eg. big backstab) or spell, then well & good. But mine wasn't...

So I'd recommend the "lead them into a side room, then close the door" tactic. You might just slip past them with lots of Invisibilty, but will then have to do the same when leaving, or if you come back later, etc., etc.
