Morrowind.... Beat RPG.... ever.....

I agree with that just if you hate dialog i STRONGLY suggest do not get Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic ;) It has a ****load of dialog and eventually very annoying cutscenes. + you can play morrowing for 500+ hours and still not have done everything, not like i have played morrowing that long ;) .....
I used to hate going to weddings because the old people would always say,"You Next! You Next!" Now I go to funerals and tell them the same thing.

plus with morrowind u do everythin all by yourself...nobody from the group cuts in every time u do something thats not.....moral (like in BG2).....hell u can even name your items in morr (my mothers kitchen dagger.....little kitty......big fluffy ****....)
Finding the world in the smallnes of the grain of sand
And holding infinities in the palm of your hand
And Heaven's realms in the seedling of this tiny flower
And eternities in the space of a single hour.

EQ #1

I would get everquest or everquest2 when it comes out over morrow and BG2 but otherwise get morrowind, good depth and difficulty to it all.

morrowind you can do whatever you want. ive had it since 2002 when it came out for it got great reviews and plus there are 2 expansions to it though the 3rd one doesn't go along with the 1st or the 2nd. And when you beat everything, the game continues for you to do whatever you wish and plus you can download mods for you game to enhance it in anyway. Add quests, Towns, Buildings, Weapons, Armor, NPC's etc... Morrowind is highly recommended.

I'd take Baldur's Gate 2. Morrowind is great, no question, but it seems to be more "raw material" than a complete game. It could be the greatest game of all time, or at least until now, but it's more a platform for modders...
In contrast to this Baldur's Gate 2 has everything. An epic story, perfect gameplay and is really alive. Plus it gives you many hours of gameplay as well.

Well, if you don't care about the talk, and want straight storyline, gp for BG2. It's fun. Bur if you like open games with a tad more realism (and less of people sounding like american 15-year-olds), go for Morrowind, which is the 2nd best game I know. I like Gothic just a tad better.

Oh, and Morrowind is a relatively classless system. I loathe character-classes. It really sucks! ;)

IMHO BG - both 1 and 2 - are worth to experience to everyone. Altogether i like wandering and do not care much for being led by hand. There were little restrictions in BG1 and more in BG 2. I won't ever speak about NWN, the single player story was strightforward and primitive - like book supposed to be red once and forgotten. (It may be completely another story about multiplayer, there, i believe, the dreams of PnP players might be going to become reality.) The Morrowind is completely another story. The only restriction here is your PC ability to stay alive. The story writing is completely in your hands. Granted, the quests are prepared, however it's up to you what to take up and what to leave, and in which order. The main storyline is an exception, altogether it is only as far as it goes, most of the side lines are more interesting and, with some exceptions, nobody cares how far you're on main quest. In addition there's much more freedom to develop your PC in comparison with adapted PnP rules in BG (not ever mentioning beta - or ever alfa - of 3rd edition rules in NWN). You may create a character what suits your taste and led it the way you like, choose or reject factions, raise in them etc. You can made your PC universal soldier or create something very specialized, all for you to decide.
Well, to be short, i enjoyed both BG for several months each, less than a month was enough for NWN, altogether now i'm still in Morrrowind, IIRC, about year and half, tried about 30 different characters of different professions and still haven't got bored.
It's matter of taste, of course. I do not pretent to talk universal truth, it's just MHO. :)

Imho, BG is better, and more fun. While morrowind is 9/10, BG is a perfect 10.

I totally agree on NWN. It is obvious that the makers of the game believed that "stunning graphics" could cover for a bad story. A lot like how they make sci-fi-movies. ;<

BG1 gets a 7 or 8, BG 2 a 6 from me. Morrowind a clear 10/10, and Gothic gets an 11! :P
