Vault 15 computers (repair skill)

Post by majoola »

Hi, everyone. I installed Fallout 2 again and am playing a sneaky character specializing in small arms...I've never finished the game before and want to get through it with as few spoilers as possible--just one nagging question, though :D so I don't have to restart a character because of one skill...

Concerning the Vault 15 computers, currently my repair skill doesn't allow me to fix it, so I can't find Vault 13 using the central computer. Assuming this is what I do...should I beef it up with skill points, or will there be enough books to get it up to a decent level so I can find the Holy GECK?

Thanks!
I would undoubtedly prefer the former...or the latter.

Spoilers, friend, many spoilers.

I dont think you should bore with vault 15 computer for now. Try leveling up. NCR has a perfect place for that, as long as you know the right place to go. But, as long as you still have time, try improving your science and repair skills, they are very important for your character.

I'm not sure too... but I think Majoole is gona have to level up and come back with some more skills anyway.

I always liked to solo Fallout... the rest of the guys only shoot you when you're not looking.

Try using a toolbox or an tool, such as the wrench or any of the others (dont remember theyr names, sorry).

Remember to place all the points you can in science AND repair skills - them both affect the modifier for computer repair (if not all kinds of repair)

Thanks for your quick replies. It turned out I only needed another level up and 20 more points into the science skill to fix the computer thing (could have used books :) ). I needed to use Science and Repair on the thing. I don't think Vic is proficient with Science; he's just a repairman--at least he didn't look at the computer when I couldn't figure it out the first time. Well, so far I've found the GECK in Vault 13 (stashed away in a most...un-holy location) and am on my way back to save my village--or will do so soon, anyway... Thanks again~
