Disappearing items

Has anyone else had items disappear from their inventory?

I know for a fact that I have lost my helm of Balduran and my Ring of the Ram. I never sold them, and i have not fought one of those Ushuru magic draining things (I lost both sometime during Chapter 3-4). I have probably lost other items that I just haven't noticed.

Any ideas what could cause this to happen?

If you have not fought any Nishrus...then what about death...have you died a few times and perhaps lost some items that way? (not picking them up...) or something?

Or gaining an item in a quest and having the BackPack full - so something is dropped on the ground?

My sister has a lot of problems that way she lost the d'arnisse signet ring a couple of times. Just edited it back but it keeps dissapearing. And I believe that you can't unequip that so it if you die you should still have it. Has anyone got the problem or is it just a bug?

Thanks Carrot, but not only do I lose equipment my special skills disappear too. (you know, the healing skills from BG1 etc.) At some point my only special skill was turning in to the slayer. I'm quite sure you can change all this back (cheating) but after placing Nalia's ring back for the 5th time I got sick of it and left her walking around with a higher AC. (It did give me an extra ring slot on her)

Your special abilites go when Jon-boy steals your soul. You get 'em back when you finish so I'm told.

Sounds like a nasty bug - not a nishru or anything stealing the 'power' from Nalia's ring? What other items go missing?

Hmmm....I just lost a Traveller's robe, and 2 bracers of ac 6...that really sux, so if anyone can tell me how to edit them back I'd be really thankful - meanwhile I'll go whine at Black Isle or Interplay...

Well its good to hear that I am not the only person who has had stuff disappear randomly.

Its only a minor frustration if you have a listing of all the item codes (which I do).
I just add them back in using the console. But it shouldn't happen in the first place.
