How do you get INVITED to see LORD VIVEC???
What, specificly, do you have to do to get invited to see Lord Vivec. I have found Keening & Sunder and just need Wraithgaurd from Vivec. I lost the cup from the Ashlander quest so I can't advance to see Vivec. I've heard that, if your rep is high enough, that you'll receive an invitation but what I don't know is...
1) How high does you rep have to be before you'lll receive an invtation? Right now mine is 30.
2) Whom should I speak with after sufficiently raising my rep or will a journal entry appear after a ceratin rep level is attained?

Not sure if its based on your chars rep, level or quests done. I seem to always get the invite without doing the main quest. Usually I have completed all the Temple quests, have a rep much higher than 30 and my level is usually in the 60-70 range. Also having found Sunder and Keening doesn't seem to be a prerequisite. However, I think I've always had Azura's Ring (from the Cavern of the Incarnate). The message that the Temple Prelate wants to see you usually comes from one of the Great House councilors that serve as sponsers. I've also had the message from the Urshilaku wise woman once. If you play long enough you will eventually get it. You can get Azura's ring without being given it as a quest. Just find the cavern, wait until dawn so that the door opens, go in and take the ring. Azura will appear and name you the Neravarine.
I've been able to get the message and complete the game without doing Ilinibi or getting corprus disease. Also I've been able to skip the Dissadent Priests, as well as all the Ashlander and Horator quests. I am currently trying to play the game without joining the Blades to see if all of those quests can be skipped as well. Losing the cup shouldn't be a problem as I skipped that as well. Just keep playing and doing quests and get Azura's Ring. Check with the great house sponsors occassionally to see if its triggered. Good luck.

I checked the Main Quest Shortcuts at UHS The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind. It seems you may hope to be invited only if you already are the Urshilaku Nerevarine, and this is exactly what you cannot. So you can kill the Vivec for Wraithgaurd or start over. In first case you have to find somebody who can tell you what the Wraithgaurd is for. As i've heard it's possible, altogether do not ask where to search, i do not remrmber (you can try Baladas in Gnisis or turn to Tel Fyr, though). Also i remeber it was said that the Wraithgaurd won't have the full power if taken from dead Vivec, altogeter you're going to be able to wield Sunder and Keening. (BTW, they aren't and cannot be the prerequisites, because Vivec is going to tell you where they are and what they are needed for, although you may have already learned it another way)

I am LVL65. Dark Elf. Achmagister of Telvanni. Arch Mage of Mages Guild. I'm going to try joining the Morag Tong to see if I can raise my rep to 50+ which is what I hear that you need to get invited.
Thanks for the advice. That answers many of my questions and gives me a good direction. I''l try your suggestions and see where it leads me and post my progress on this thread.

Yes, I tried to visit Vivec but I was univited so he wouldn't speak to me. He just sat there smugly and levited -- showoff. So I read the docs behind him about how to kill Dagoth and how to use the artifacts. I'm so close to finishing the main quest that I would sooner commit Sepiku (sp?) than start over and lose 150+ hours of work. The funny thing is that I've learned so much this first time through that the next game I play will be should go 2-3x as fast.

My second guess was right - you should go to the last Dwarf in Tel Fyr to find the uses of Wraithgaurd (Yagrum Bagarn and Wraithguard).

No, not for Morrowind part (i dunno about Tribunal if he plays there any important part). Your main goal is Dagoth Ur, your destiny is to get the world rid of him. You're the winner as soon Dagoth Ur is dead and Azura has recognized it (do not expect a fiesta, though, nothing has really changed save that all now admit you're Nerevarine).

Looked through the UHS "Yagrum Bagarn and Wraithguard". Now i know. Always have wondered what the Kagrenac's diary amd planbook are for, had never found any use of them. Altogether it's plain that it isn't profitable to kill Vivec before he's given the Wrightguard to your PC. Neither should one lose unique or named in special way (like those 4 Redoran Banner shields) items

@Loredweller: The info you provided allowed me to piece together what I did in my previous games that allowed me to skip all the horator and ashlander quests as well as Ilinibi and the corprus disease quest.
Apparently getting Azura's Ring will allow you to get named as the Urshilaku Neravarine regardless of whether or not you've done the Urshilaku ancestral tomb quest or the Lost Korgaruhn quest. Just get the ring and then visit with Sul-matuul again. He will name you on the spot. Then talk to the wise woman. She should give you the message that the temple prelate wants to meet you.
@FRAGZILLA: If you're going to kill Lord Vivic you may as well soul trap him. I know his soul can be held by Azura's Star but not sure if a grand soul gem will work. It's great for making a cast on strike weapon as it has so much charage.

Well, I killed Lord Vivec, and as I thought 'the thread of phrophecy was severed'. I was able to get the Dwarf in Tel Fyr to activate Wraithgaurd and to destroy the heard and kill Dagoth Ur but when visit the Urshiaku (sp?) camp they have no idea that he's dead. How do I get declared the Nevarnine or can I?
NOTE: I started a new game and within 8 hours I was up to LV20, had full Glass armor, joined all three guilds, the temple, Morag Tong plus a few quests. This represents about a 10 fold increase in efficency from the last game.
