elementals, i had a pair of'em hasted by aerie, they rocked, mean while minsk w/ jarod's mace & keldorn w/ ha steeped in & got the assist.

just so aerie didn't feel totally left out she would wack away w/ holy smite, i think it looks cool, and it seemed to work rather well, but be carefull if you have evil chars in your party.

Rush him with all you got. Cast free action on as many as you can and use +3 weapons. I used plenty of elementals and skeleton warriors.

Well, my protagonist (kensai/mage) with Cel.Fury and Iomen with the Staff of Magi had done three of them (including their escort). I had full charged Rod of Absorption on protagonist and used it, though. Oh yes, almost forgot, the Cloak of Mirroring and the Ring of Free Action on the protagonist and the Belt of Inertial Barrier on Iomen.

Life seems short considering how long you will be dead.

I died quite the heroes death, and that quite a few times trying to kill these things. Very tough beings, at least if you're not at least lvl 12 or 13.

Anyway, at last I managed to kill it by first taking out the surrounding monsters with cloudkill, then just full power blow with every singly weapon I had, plus the occasional magic missile, it seems to be the only spell that actually damages them without lowering their resistance and saving throws first.

Before you go out, try to rest once and get as many magic missiles ready as you can. Also, chaotic commands is helpful to stand against their hold person spells. Basically, hold person is the only thing that kept my dying so often.....

When I had to fight that demon with a low level party, before approaching I summoned aid, then paused and had the magic users simultaneously cast haste, bless and chant (an enchanted mountain bear or two does serious damage). In addition to the other suggestions posted in this thread, this tactic significantly in increases your chances.

Summoned creatures...as many as you can!

I finished off one of the demons, having used up heaps of spells, all my summoned creatures, and most of my hit points(!).
I had one Nymph left over, and when I moved back to go back up stairs, I somehow found a 2nd demon!
I panicked, retreated all my party ASAP, and sent the nymph between them and the demon to distract him.
The nymph took one look at him, cast 'Hold Monster', and the demon froze, allowing me to come back and clobber him for nothing. Unfarkinbelievable!!!
