stealth - some rant and questions...

Post by Mirk »

Some rant:
Scouts are supposed to be explorers and survivalists. Sentinels are supposed to be jedi infiltrators and spies. Yet none of them have stealth as a class skill. Oh, well...
Now, I’m planning to go through as a scout-guardian or a scout-sentinel for the first time through. I have two questions:
1. is the stealth skill useful to a char that has no sneak attack capability?
2. are the points I get in this skill as a cross-class skill (1 skill point every 2 levels, to a max of 11 at lvll 19) going to be enough to use it effectively (with a high dex score)?

thnx

As I recall, any character that has a point in stealth can use one of the stealth "generators" to become, in effect, invisible as long as they avoid combat. I tried this with characters who had no sneak feats, and it worked just fine.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

It'd work, I guess, but I can't really think of any practical use for it. Even as a scoundrel, stealth's usefulness is limited by the fact that you can achieve the same effect quicker and better by disabling your enemy. KotOR isn't really a very stealthy game.
