Wizards:Is this correct?

I have a question that hopefully you can help me with:

*When you create a new 1st level single-classed wizard, you get some automatic 1st level spells in the spellbook that don't have to be bought/obtained in the game.

* When I multiclassed a Gnome Rogue to Transmuter, I didn't get these automatic spells (the spellbook was empty).

Should I have got any spells if I didn't start as a wizard (or specialist)? I thought I should have (because I think that was the case in IWD1).

No automatic spells when you multiclass, just if you start a new character.

Thanks SP, that explains it. The rogue/transmuter's doing a pretty good job anyway. Just got to buy a few scrolls here and there, as I haven't found that many lying around yet.
