Watchers Keep

Post by davfra »

I`ve just realised that Watchers Keep is an available area in SOA. I thought that this was strictly an area for TOB.
Does anything drastic happen if I explore it at this stage? (Chapter 3 SOA)
Cheers

Not really, though there are some NPC banters that only happen in Watcher's Keep (and in no other ToB areas) if you're already in ToB.
There are three kinds of people that no one understands: geniuses, madmen and guys that mumble.

Well..

It's available in SoA, and mostly doable, I got through it (including the Tactics mod Ritual, a wonderful piece of AI scripting, - and WON!) and enjoyed it immensely before the Underdark, but I had completed most every possibly quest and was at the very end of CH.3 with a strong party.

I gave up, however, after the Lum the Mad level, and came back to finish up after Bodhii part 2.

It's a bit unbalancing to do it, however - you get so much EXP you'll be using HLAs before you leave, and the Underdark gets sort of trivialized

Didn't fight him..

I didn't fight him, the countess was alive when I left (oooh, that was a race  )....so he remained a happy camper and never turned into a Dra..err..spaniard ;)

The truly astounding thing is that there's no cheese in the Ritual, those characters are 70 points, low level, non-stellar gear (I think they drop everything they have!), but astoundingly well scripted and they will flatten you if you're not really careful.

Yeah..

He's a good fight - I have beaten him in combat - I just didn't want to fight him this time, I wanted to disrupt the %&%$#&)( ritual.

He butchered me when I had to face him :D
It was a pleasant surprise actually, one that woke me up hehe and got me thinking strategically again.
How did you keep her alive?
I managed after many many tries. I dont want to spoil it for anyone so I wont post it as I dont know how to write it so you have to highlight to read. How is that done?
