Oblivion is Eating my Tower!!!

Post by Dorian_ertymexx »

I found a very strange glitch (I think it is a glitch anyway).

I have modded my Telvanni tower to contain a couple of more rooms, and two servants. I am modding a few quests for a Telvanni Lord. Naturally, I test my progress often, as I am a scripter-newbie.

The "interesting" thing is that from time to time, my servants get cloned. I have two where I had one. This is annoying, but not serious.

What is more annoying is that this glitch also "eats" wall-sections, furniture and other static placeables.
The "lost objects" are still very much there in the TES, mind you. It is only in the game they have disappeared. Moving them around and re-saving does nothing, I must remove the glitchy wall/object and replace it a new one.

When it happens with one object or other it is bad, but now I am losing more objects than I can remember to replace. Black holes on you floor and walls, and stuff hanging in mid-air is SO not mood-heightening. :(

Does anyone have a clue to why this happens, and what, if anything, I can do to avoid this?

Tips and hints are VERY welcome.

Had you already visited your tower in game beofer you modded it? It might be a "dirty" saved game then...
I used to hate going to weddings because the old people would always say,"You Next! You Next!" Now I go to funerals and tell them the same thing.

and each time are you saving then coming back if so you really should make a new game just for the plug in every time you test it just to make sure.

it could just be the fact the the game doesnt like things to change after youve been there.
Ahhhhh shut up

I have the latest patches. And yes, this only occurs after saving and testing. But dang, I must test my "product" after all. It is dead annoying. And as I said, it only seems to affect those new inner cells that connect to the tower. All else is fine. Hmm. No remedies, then?!?

*LOL* Heck no! I'm on my third character, and restarting is dull even if I have finished the game once allready! ;)

I'll have to cut my losses - I noticed that saving, restarting with the patch shot down, saving and then activating the patch actually worked. I lost some stuff, and my servant NPC's got mindewiped, but, alas, it is better than the trouble I had.

My biggest loss was Robbie the Robot, the cute (but heck annoying) dwemer centurion I got as a present from a friend in Gnisis. ;)
