@Craig, this was a very good idea. I've decided to make this topic "sticky," so that others can make use of the resource. I would only ask that this topic NOT be spammed, so that the materials at the top of the first page may be easily available. If you have corrections or additions to make, fine; otherwise, let's let this one just sit. :)

I've got a site with some home made soundsets for BG2 and Icewind Dale; I doubt I'm ever going to make any new ones, but I see no reason to take the site down. ;)
So if you're looking for soundsets from Stewie (Family Guy) or Bender and Zap Brannigan (both Futurama), this is the place to go. :)
Groj's soundsets

ps I think they're also featured on Sorcerer's Place as I've submitted them there once. But the download locations are still the same, so if you're interested in them, downloading them from either site will still go with the same speed. ;)

Ultimate BG2/IE resource list

PATCHES

Official:

Bioware: Get your official patch, and then the official BETA.

Unofficial:

Baldurdash Remix: A must have pack of BG2 SoA/ToB fixes. For all that stuff Bioware missed (and admitted it missed).

IMPROVED AI

Enemy

Improved Mage: An improved copy of one of the enemy mage scripts. Put in the override folder.

Smart Beholders

Smarter Golems

Smart SoA Dragons

Party

GBScripts: Improved party AI for SoA and ToB. Also includes AI for player images and summons, though these only work while your party run GBScripts. AI can be disabled by party member, image or summon with a keypress.

gSeries: Improved party AI for SoA. AI can be disabled by party member with a keypress.

eSeriep: 3rd party updating of gSeries for ToB.

uScript: Improved party AI for SoA and ToB. AI can be disabled by party member with a keypress.

FIXES

Greater Wolfwere regeneration fix

Juggernaut Golem Fix

ADDONS &TWEAKS

Beholder Hive Upgrade: Makes Underdark Beholder Hive more difficult.

Brown Dragon: Smart and incredibly tough Dragon lands in the Druid Grove after the fall of Falon.

Deeper Shadows of Amn: Beefs several SoA encounters and adds several more, all with improved AI.

Enhanced Random Encounters

Enhanced Thief Stronghold: Add mores and makes it harder.

Improved Ilyich: Makes escaping from Irenicus that bit harder.

Multicoloured Orbs and Hive Mothers, so you can tell them apart from normal Beholders.

Tougher battles: Ensures that the hardest level of monsters are always present.

Tougher Demonknights

Tough Lich: Another Lich in Amn. Very cheesy.

Tougher Mae'var Encounter: Beefs Mae'var's followers, and fixes his script so he can now cast his spells. WeiDU MOD.

MODS

Ascension: Makes the final ToB fight more difficult, allows you to recruit one of two allies, upgrades the Slayer abilities, beefs Sword of Chaos in Sarevok's hands, forces conversations between Sarevok, Imoen and the PC.

Ease-of-use: A collection of tweaks.

Epic Endeavours: A brand new adventure using the Infinity Engine. Combat orientated.

Item Upgrades: Get more upgrade options.

Kelsey: An NPC sorcerer who will join the party and woo the women. Massive number of voiced lines.

Nalia romance: SoA segment only, but needs ToB.

Ritual: You have seven hours to rescue someone in this incredibly difficult quest.

Solaufein NPC & Romance Mod Pack: Verbose NPC.

Spell-50: Spells improve up until level 50.

Tashia: Refreshingly original NPC for SoA and ToB.

The Darkest Day: Massive expansion for SoA, adds a whole new section after the end of SoA too, as well as plenty of things during it. Not ToB compatible.

Valen: Silent but deadly operative of Bodhi.

VOICE SETS

Black Magic Games: Mostly NPC voices, but a few voices for BG1 that I haven't seen before.

FilePlanet: Absolute tons of voices.

Havak's

PORTRAITS

Black Magic Games: Portraits from the IE games.

Havak's

Kirith's

The Ironworks

Unknown

SCRIPTING

IEEAIS: An Infinity Engine scripting group which focuses on AI. Provided some of the AI and dialogue for Ascension, and some of the members are working on Return to Windspear.

InfinityScripters: Large scripting group for all Infinity Engine games, and NWN.

EDITING

TeamBG: Home to lots of Infinity Engine tools and several MODs.

Near Infinity: When it come to editing the Infinity Engine, this is*the* tool to have.

IESDP: Infinity files and scripting help.

Infinity Explorer: A tool for browsing files from Infinity Engine games. Best used for browsing graphics, while NI does the rest.

Shadow Keeper: Edits Infinity Engine saves.

Extracting Music: An article on how to extract ACM music.

WeiDU Home of the ultimate MOD tool. Check out this WeiDU tutorial as well.

COMMUNITY SITES

Bioware: Developers of BG & BG2, home of the official BG & BG2 forums.

B20's BG2 & ToB Links Central

iv just completed a large and long overdue update.. iv included lots of new links as well as updated some old stuff..

also if your interested mysticsyn has been kind enough to put up some little mod files for me at his site..

http://mysticsyn.tripod.com/Mods.htm

they are..

- a corrected version of the baldurdash/teambg grand mastery patch as well as a version that i use that continues adding 1/2 attacks every 7 levels for warrior types.. it says that it restores gm to what it was in bg1 and iwd.. going from 3/2 to 2 attacks.. but instead u go from 3/2 to 5/2 attacks.. pernickety i know.. especially since technically its a cheat anyway.. but if u want the corrected version u can download it here..

- a greater wolfwere fix by cinreth as well as a saved game just before u meet the infamous one in windspear hills dungeon.. in case people havent experienced the problem and want to see for themselves.. also iv included a screenshot shows me doing over 200 damage to the gww in 2 rounds!.. with his tab label still at "uninjured"..

- a 'fix' for the red dragon scale in tob where it can no longer be worn with items of protection of +X.. i know this annoys a lot of people.. finally iv included a tweak that allows all magical armour to be used in conjunction with items of protection..

Kelsey's up there in the list, but as an added note, he now has TOB content.

From the people who brought you Kelsey and Dungeon-Be-Gone, I am proud to announce the initial release of the NPC Flirt Packs for Baldur's Gate 2, available for immediate download at http://www.pocketplane.net .

Using a concept originally developed for the Kelsey NPC add-on, the Flirt Packs add new romance interludes for the Bioware NPCS to both the Shadows of Amn and Throne of Bhaal portion of the game.

It doesn't make sense that the BG2 romance NPCs call all of the shots in the relationship, right down to when it is and is not appropriate to show a little affection. Besides, who among you can say that you've never felt Aerie, Anomen, Jaheira, or Viconia just needed a hug?

Features include:

- Both PC and NPC-initiated flirts and new conversations

- Context-sensitive flirting (new flirts and different responses open up as the romance progresses)

- New epilogues in TOB (three for Jaheira in V0.8, more to come for other NPCs in future versions)

- Optional romance conflict modules for Westley Weimer's Solaufein romance

- Compatible with most mods

- Warm fuzzies all around

How on earth did this get missed?

An awesome resource, which seems to have been missed thus far is Xyx's Spell Guide

A suberp refeence to the whys and wherefores of spells. There's also Oogi's school

Xyx's guide however, provides detailed explanations of why & how spells are good (or bad), so when I disagree with Oogi - as when he rates Mordenkainen's Sword as only a bread-and butter spell, I can only shake my head

If these were included, and I just missed them, my apologies. Hopefully User Unfriendly's wicked Guide de fromage will get a web home, and a link here soon.

Good gaming, everyone!
I have given up all lesser evils as inadequate to my purpose.

As suggested by Fable, here's a copy of the mod announcement I just made.

Ashes of Embers is a collection of features originally intended as
components of the Embers of Empires mod. Due to time constraints EoE
has been put on hold, but the completed features have been released as
a stand-alone package for BGII. It includes:

- Universal weapons for all classes
It doesn't make much sense that a cleric can't use a sword in
combat, and a mage with 17 strength couldn't wield a two-handed
sword.
Strength and Dexterity requirements have been modified for all
weapons.
Two added weapons; Katars and Bolas, using the dagger and sling
proficiencies.
Spears can now be thrown.

- 7 added kits
This includes six of the nine cleric kits for the deities of EoE,
and a fighter kit called the Pit Fighter.
NOTE: Armour restrictions for the clerics have not yet been
implemented.

- Human multi-classes
With this feature you can either dual-class your human character
as normal, or choose to be multi-classed via kit selection.

- Added Armour
Scale Mail, Banded Mail, and Field Plate have all been added.
You will find a merchant who sells them in Waukeen's Promenade,
near the Ore Merchant.

- Two tweaked spells
Both Ironskin and Stoneskin are extremely cheesy and piss me off.
They have been nerfed to have a far shorter duration.

- Wizard Slayer enhancement
Wizard Slayers will now have an 8% base MR, with a +4% Magic
Resistance bonus per level. A level 3 Wizard Slayer would have
16% MR, for example.

You can get it here: http://www.forgottenwars.net/?page=mods/ashes

It's a 603kb download, so it's friendly for those of you without broadband.

You can find the readme here: http://forums.forgottenwars.net/attachm ... ReadMe.txt

The forum for AoE is here:
http://forums.forgottenwars.net/index.php?board=44

Note: It's fixes include ToB content, but you can use it with SoA only.
Ghreyfain

One tool to rule them all,
One tool to find them,
One tool to bring them all,
And in the dark APPEND them.

Yeah, or maybe you could just download some Pocket Plane mods. :)

All of Weimer's mods have moved from the Berkeley web space to http://www.weidu.org ... can someone with admin access perhaps edit the links in Quitch's post?

"www.cs.berkeley.edu/~weimer/bgate" would be replaced by "www.weidu.org".

Yeah. Wes had to move hosts yet again. It might be a day or three before weidu.org catches up.

One-Day NPCs are now available from [url=http://www.pocketplane.net]

Ghareth
by Jason Compton

A couple hundred new lines, give or take!
A hastily-recorded soundset, plus three other clips!
Almost 20 banters!
A low-level dual-class NPC!
Magic and moralizing!
Almost 16 hours in the making!

Ghareth, a human fighter/mage, is the first and still only true One-Day NPC(tm). Ghareth requires Throne of Bhaal to function.

Hessa
by Bonnie Rutledge

- One neutral evil, half-elf thief, level 12, 13 or 15 depending on the party's
experience at the first encounter.
- One small NPC-related quest
- One small, new quest-related area
- One new soundset of dubious entertainment value
- 12 banters and 20-something interjections

Hessa is a One-Day NPC*** for Baldur's Gate 2, an evil half-elf thief, and a preview of things to come in the Surayah mod. Hessa requires Throne of Bhaal to function. Hessa requires starting a new game.

*** (Bons cheated and took one week.)
