Maybe this should be moved to game discussion.

Just ordered a copy of spellforce i've heared a lot of good and alot of bad things about it. Depending on what you are expecting.

Dont expect a planescape like RPG, and dont expect a gread RTS.

More like the final chapter in the W3:frozenthrone bonus campaign.

hehe, I've played the demo, and I assumed the voices were temporary - made by the programmers before the actors did the real stuff. that aside, I still wasn't impressed.

now, I don't know what the full game includes, but the demo shows off nice graphics, confused and clumsy combat, and tactics that could generously be described as sub- tank rush.

what, precisely, are the good points?
Here where the flattering and mendacious swarm
Of lying epitaths their secrets keep,
At last incapable of further harm
The lewd forefathers of the village sleep.

Here is a link to the SpellForce homepage.

Dont expect to much of an RPG element, although it's nice to have your own Hero in an RTS, and you can customize it in many ways.

What is good about the game:
The grafics for one thing, they look very good. And it's fun to have an battle army VS army while your zoomed in to thirdperson vieuw on your Hero.

Also the click&fight system is very good!
(you select an enemy, and by one click, your party, another party, or for example all archers attack that enemy)
This gives the game a more "relaxed" gameplay then other RTS games.

Also the game is HUGE, with big city's with alot of merchants, and you have to travel back to finish some quests.

Overall it's a rather good game, nice entertainment, but not one of the best games ever. It could have had more, the idea is very very good!

PS. sytemrequirements are very high.
Minimum:
P3-800Mhz
128MB
GeForce II

Recommanded:
P4 2,6Ghz
512MB
Radeon 9700 Pro
I do not have the touch, nor do I have the power.

Forgot this. What I dont like about the game:
1: When your zoomed out, it's hard to see the differnt units your using (a cleric looks alot like a soldier etc.) and in crowded battles you cna hardly see the enemy. but thats where the click and fight systems stept in.

2: Alot of "get me a ........ and i will reward you" quests

3. The voice acting (although this gets better after the tutorial, in the tutorial it's realy REALY bad)

4. No SP-skirmisch mode (atleast i havent found it)

5. A terrible manual that doesnt explain WHAT building do exactly this is mostly solved ingame but not all
I do not have the touch, nor do I have the power.
