Post by pevans »

hey I put this in the Fallout 1 board too, check it out:

I know someone that is writing a script for a possible fallout-esqe movie set in the post-nuclear world. In fact, we are collaborating. What would you like to see in such a movie? It would be loosely based on the game world (mostly the concepts of life after the war). Is there any particular aspect of that that you think would be good in a movie? Aspects that wouldnt be? let me know.

lol, it's already been done. ever heard of Mad Max? actually much of the content from fallout was based on Mad Max (the leather jacket in fallout for instance is the same jacket Mel Gibson wears through the whole movie). Many of the basic concepts like fuel, ammo and water being very scarce come right from the MM series.

If i were you I'd go to your local Hollywood Video and grab Mad Max, Road Warrior, Beyond the Thunderdome and Waterworld. If you're real cool look for a movie called Six String Samurai.

lol of course. Ive seen most of them (although six string samurai? never heard of it). but since most people outside of the genre have probably never heard of the mm movies (or anything related to it) then it wasnt good enough. lets get ambitious. any more ideas?

Well what kind of story do you want to do? a single hero in random adventures (Mad Max, Conan, Indiana Jones) or more like a group of people on a journey or mission (the Stand, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars) or just an interesting story within this fantasy world (Dark City, A Knight's Tale, Harry Potter). There are a ton of other models that would work well but this is the largest question. Once you know what kind of movie you want I think the rest will start to fall into place.

there's also a post-nuklear movie which is more like a doku...and more horrible than ententaining, but I forgot the name...the day after the bombs? something like that I guess....
You should watch that one, it's a bit old, but something everyone should have watched.

So that movie i mentioned Six String Samurai can be really hard to find. It was really pretty obscure as it was more of a student film project than an actual major motion picture. But if you would like to see it and also know how Bit Torrent works you can find the movie Here. This is time sensitive and the movie won't be available a week from now.

It's a 1.4 GB download
Here's the movie on IMDB
Enjoy
