Requirements question

Post by Underdog77 »

I am really looking forward to playing ToEE, but like I do with most games, I have waited until they got the game fairly well patched.
But here's my question...........my PC is a PIII 850 mhz, 256mb RAM, GeForce 2 64 mb video card, which technically meets the minimum specs for the game.

Does anyone have a feel for how well the game will really run on my system?

re: what OS

I am running Windows 98, but I do have DirectX 9b and all the current drivers for my video and sound cards.
I'm OK with having to turn down some details, but I'm just worried if the game will run so slow as to be unplayable.
I've run into several games over the years where the min requirements listed weren't really good enough.
Thanks.

The video card is iffy since its a geforce2 and not a geforce4, but under 98.. you should be okay... with some details and what not turned down.. you may run into problems though with the card.. even though its 64 mb it may not be up to handlying ToEE
Your best bet is to visit the atari forums and see if anyone else has run the game using that video card.

I guess ultimately it's time to upgrade my PC, but I was hoping to get a little more life out of it.

Thanks a lot for the replies!

I have WinMe on a pentium III @ 1 Gz with 256 MB of RAM and use the GeForce 4Ti 4200 and an 8x/4x/32x CD-RW which barely clears the game requirements - and my game runs fine - no crashes, no stutters, no problems at all.

:D

Yeah but your video card would be creating a bottleneck.. all the ram and processor power in th eworld won't help you beyond what your vid card is capable of
