First Irenicus fight

Post by Zephyralien »

I dont know if this is posted anywhere but its an easy win. When the dialogue is over, simply run down the eastern branch till he casts timestop.. Head back into the palace, rest (To rid him of his buffs), now head back down to that east branch and buff, then kick his ass. Every hit will inturupt him so he is helpless.

Guys, you want to spam, go to the SYM (Speak Your Mind) forum. Thanks. ;)

Does anybody know about mods that make that first fight really harder?
I heard someone was working on that... or maybe it was just a dream ;)
Where we came from, we don't know
Where we're going.... (even worse)
And about who we could be, we actually have trouble in clearly defining the term "to be" in the first place...

I'm not sure it would be possible to make the first fight significantly harder without either giving Irenicus allies (which is essentially the point of Irenicus in hell) or giving him high-level abilities. And even with high-levels he wouldn't stand a chance against a similarly-levelled party unless a lot of scripting abuse was used (immediate uninterruptable time stop a la yellow dragon, inate improved alacrity, etc). And I suppose something would have to be done to make him bypass a resistance to magic scroll.

I think they should have written him with an innate ability of improved alacrity. They have him using it during the opening of chapter 2, it seems like that would balance things out a bit, especially if he had a pile of spells, like the lichs do.

Well..

The first fight with Irenicus is pretty easy, even with the tactics MOD. The finale fight in Hell, however, is significantly more challenging, especially if you have Spell-50.

Irenicus in Hell was also an easy win... , was a bit disappointed by that.

I found other enemies much harder (but there's another thread on that)

Try the improved Irenicus mod - it's notoriously difficult unless you really like to cheese the game.

same here. When It was over all my characters were almost at full health. And I just sat there... "Is that IT?" And then I tried again at Insane, and the it was tougher and better. Thats how a real Big Boss is supposed to be.
