I see that lots of you have a picture under your name. How do you do that????

They are called "avatars".

To use one you need to find a picture of the size 50x50 pixels. (jpeg or gif format)

To get one on your profile, go into the user control panel ("user cp" botton near the top of your screen.).
Then enter "Edit profile" and down at the bottom there is a "change avatar".

There you can upload an avatar or point to an url of an avatar.

I think you mean someone send you a privatemessage.
The link you receive in your email sometimes doesnt work.

Click UserCP next to the big Gamebansheelogo, and you can read the message under private messages.

You can work around it by copiing the link and remove the second 'forum' manually.

Fresh meat (new to the boards)

Well, I'm new here, very large board, very impressive, I like it so far.

I was drawn to this place after finding an interview with Gary Gygax and reading up, really good interview, nice work! Since that wasn't enough procrastination for one night, I thought I might see if someone (an administrator, moderator, editor, anyone?) might have any idea how I might get a copy of my new book out to Gary Gygax? It just seems fitting that I should send him a copy of my most recent (and first) fantasy novel since I've been playing (mostly as a DM), Dungeons and Dragons for about twenty years now.

Anyway, just thought I'd say Hail and Well Met! to all you folks. Looks like an active board, I think I'll look around and procrastinate a little more...
